In general, the mods/admins let a LOT of crap slide and have had a rather light hand when it comes to AT. Recently it seems like people have been a lot more vitriolic and the overall atmosphere has been spiraling downward. Yes, there has always been crap like this floating around, but it feels a lot worse currently.

So I'm asking you, for the sake of my and every other mod's sanity, to chill out and stop spamming, trolling and being so abusive. If you're about to post something and think it might be crossing the line, then please don't post it. We can have plenty of discussion and arguments without resorting to personal attacks, threats and a barrage of new forum handles to evade bans(which by nature are almost ALWAYS temporary).

it's a text-based game that is disassociated with my reality because it's just a bunch of words on the internet. most of it isn't even in the form of prose, so empathy is pretty much out the window because people have to state exactly how they feel instead of just displaying it via body language.

If a moderator is concerned about their sanity in the face of spamming, trolling, and abusive posts, then I have to question if their resolve is sufficient enough to adequately perform the duties of a moderator. Maybe I just expect too much though, as I similarly demand my medical doctor not be prone to fainting spells at the sight of blood.

Mind you, this is just an independent observation from someone who actively tries to avoid this forum except for the really important stuff. Silly me for thinking a stickied post was important...
