what a terrible link! there are a half dozen guns reviewed on that page and im so confused as to which one you purchased. im going to guess you went with the winmag, and thats a pretty good gun imo. such a light bullet, but it does travel at almost .223 speeds.
also, snow muffles the sound of a gun shot, just like it muffles the sound of everything else by limiting a sounds ability to echo off the ground and other snow covered objects, so one could argue that a snow covered range is the perfect range...
