think i saw that on PBS. chimpanzee gang warfare where the winners cannibalize the losers. i forgot to see if the series was available on xbox video and now i can't remember the title. i was thinking about purchasing it. probably something simple like "Nature" or some such nonsense.

never really understood why a mechanized society needed a bunch of trained apes to run around doing all the work. seems kinda redundant. maybe they were just kinky and really into beastiality(sp?), oh, it doesn't seem to be a real word.

Who knows, the movie was made in the 1970s. MOvie Science fiction still hadn't left the "lame" stage yet (see Santa clause meets the martians). The real point to it was to be an allegory on society and due to restrictions placed on movies at the time you had to be a little more indirect about it. Apes probably mode more sense than dogs, cats, or gerbils (dogs were all dead due to a virus iirc). Although the later movies just got kind of silly. Although them all getting nuked to hell in one of them was satisfying.
