For some reason I am unable to join the GDI. When I click to join it loads for a second and does nothing. I've read the rules and I haven't attacked anyone or performed any spy op in about 4 or 5 days. Can anyone tell me how to join or what I'm doing wrong? Thanks.

well, if you have attacked even once since the start of the game, you will be unable to join GDI.

Are you sure about this, for the primary server? I read at the Wiki that if you haven't made an attack for 18 hours you can join.

Well damn! That really should be specified somewhere within the Wiki. Ok, thanks for the help. Sure wish I knew this beforehand, would have joined it sooner.

I always join before leaving protection to make sure I don't forget.

Heh I made that mistake my first reset playing EE (had played E2025 for years and joining GDI then you couldn't make attacks for 72 hours before joining.

I played E2025 waaay back in the day too but then stopped for many years. Just came back recently and didn't know that about the GDI. Unless I'm missing a notification, they really should put that in somewhere in the game. New people (or returning ones) click to join it and will be unable to understand why they aren't allowed to do so as it doesn't tell you.

Yeah, or it should give you a warning before your first attack/op, I agree.

The new GDI is great by the way. The reason I quit old E2025 is because I'd constantly get suicided on, and decide to come back for the next set... but by the time the next set swung around a month later I'd forget or have moved on.

lotta truth in that. I got hosed by that too my first reset back.

Ah well, at least I know for next reset. Wonder how many people have been screwed over by this before.

My question is just the opposite..how do you get out of GDI? Old player returning, too, and did not realize I couldn't get out once I joined. Must have missed a note or something.

I keep finding new features that I really like..such as the saved spy ops link..very cool. You guys have made this a much better game.

Yep, joining GDI is permanent (on solo servers only). You should always get the free GDI bonus in the first few days of a reset if you do.

I just now found that out the hard way to.....add another hosed to the list. I guess reading is fundamental!
