I think it's literally more effective to intentionally bounce, at least then you kill a lot of turrets. Better than losing more turrets than your opponent so you can kill a paltry 100 buildings.

I've had 10 straight missiles blocked by his SDI. By percentages 3 should have gone through. In other words, random missile attack results have had a bigger impact on land/buildings destroyed than 100 turns spent doing mostly successful BRs.

I'll just have to disagree on your ordering, I won't post my ordering because posting anything tends to attract unwanted attention to countries that don't want them.

I think some country finishes are really dependent on how they react to the food crash later.
