i think i'll try for 500km in May... that might be pushing it a bit though; maybe 6 more 40km rides

I have used it, bikemyride and endmondo. None of them are particularly good. I'm using endomono right now simply for the ongoing challenge they're running.

ah fair enough; i'm enjoying strava; the community defined segments in particular....

I've not tried endomondo, though from what i've read it's not really as good for cycling as strava...

i used MapMyRide before strava, and it wasn't very good =/

incidentally, what features would you want in particular that are missing?

My only problems thus far have been that it quit once 4/5 through the ride; and it often seems to have issue syncing the ride when i'm done, but i think that has more to do with Bell's network than anything else heh....

I guess you're using a phone to track your activity? Or do you use a Garmin and don't like the Garmin Connect site?

I started using it for running are qz's suggestion but like half my runs say they saved but won't sync to the cloud then they are gone the next day.

If I was more hardcore I'd be pissed :-p

I also run around a track so my route looks boring :-p

I'm looking at gettinga Javabone Up next month which would do all that stuff too. Check it out

I never understand why people want to track their routes with their phones. Every single person I know who does that always gives a disclaimer when they explain how they track their training; must not be very serious training.

Get a Garmin 910XT. Incredibly useful.

Mr Snow: not serious training, no; more just trying to keep track of what i've done.

My serious training is karate....

Interesting video on the "kilogram of the archives" and creating the standard platinum meridian cylinder.

Tracking for training? Bah, no. I only do them to score points in National Bike Challenge. The only interesting facts I learn is just how fast I get on the 10/11% gradient I hit on one hill. Other than that, I could pretty much care less since I cycle mostly for workout/commuting.

Garmin's are supposed to be the best, but I've heard they have buggy issues too sometimes. I suppose it also depends upon where someone is riding.

For fun, I used Strava today. It thinks I did 3 more miles than I did. Score!

Just running is incredibly boring no matter what. I prefer to hike, bike, or play a sport for cardio. Some people like it and I wish I was one of them because you can run virtually anywhere but I just can't.

It's only boring if you run slow or don't cover much distance....or if you run in boring places.

Try harder.
