i for one have always categorised hits bottom/mid/trading/top based on outcome as well as intent

PG, that is because they clearly landtraded. And initiated many of the trades too. Most of their lands are obtained from land exchanges as compared to the 10 I listed, where most of the acres are from bottomfeeding/midfeeding.


(My definition of a landtrade is attacking someone with no intention of avoiding the retal, and actually getting retalled L:L. The defender need not have consented to the exchange, because it generally still results in a win:win outcome for both countries if they aren't techers. You might disagree with my definition, but that is essentially what landtrading is - an exhcnage of land that generates new land for both parties.)

I would have been rank 5th (~180m) if I didn't forget to cancel my SO =(. I bought a ton of military tech at $1000+ and couldn't sell much of it. That costs me 10-11M nw.

But still, getting land in alliance is a pain in the arse if you aren't landtrading. Don't have so much time and energy to camp like some of you all did.

i did 2 lgs during set and gained ~1.5k acres (all from ghosties) and set before i made 1 lg (blatant topfeed landwise) and gained ~2k acres (ghosties and non-ghosties).

I'm not sure which color bright shiny star that you earned.

How many acres for bottomfeeders are produced by ghost acres? I guess, for me, if we are to include all attacks where a retal is made, what is the real difference if we include those in which a retal was not made? Is the amount of ghost acres produced for a bottomfeeder just ignored in this case?

Overall, I just see that definition of landtrading as insane. Why don't we just take away attacking and then all net in a bubble to see who is truly the best.

I didn't land trade either, I just took retals. This whole game is corrupt in their own theories of right and wrong.
This whole new meta of the game and "land trading" is no fault of their own who had done so. You play the game as it is made in front you and taking advantage of what can be done. Sure, it seems like this is unfair to those who want to only play 3 minutes a day to explore and stock to gain networth.
I don't understand. Everything that happens in this game someone has a reason to complain about it.
This is the new meta of the game. All X is not as viable as it once was. I understand most are not able to take grasp of the learning curve of different strategies, but you don't have any room to boast about an old strat that doesn't work anymore.

i was hoping for the market to be bought out and i didnt log in for like 300 hrs and had a huge PM.. managed to resell for 8mil nw gained only in the last day :(

so now we have different degrees of #1 - sad.

we could make #1 for each govt/strategy type too.

i was #236 (ingle for don). while im shown at 227m nw, i didn't spend approximately 1b cash at the end of the set to take turns which would translate to about 5m nw so my real end nw should have been about 232m

additionally, i lost a little over 100 csites mid set to an untagged country which hampered my plans a little.

however, given the market conditions, even with my csites being undisrupted, i think i was 260m nw at best which is still not good enough for a real t10 :)

idk if i agree with your definition of land trading Xin. youre saying that if i havent made any grabs on targets aside from bottom feeding and some country from another alliance grabs me but doesnt try to outrun the retal, my finish will be tainted as land trading?

thats a ridiculous thing to even consider when you take into account that most every alliance has some type of L:L retal policy which means it will almost always be win:win unless you sandbag perfectly.
