Part of the problem is non-participation in the system. If you don't vote there is no incentive for anyone to listen.

Voting wont' solve the problem by itself, but it's a first step.

Maybe not necessarily fraud as some people do get snao when in an unfortunate bind. For example my family is able to recieve snap right now, which we do. We fall under the income bracket for income per month. I get laid off for the winters which is whywe qualify. But doesnt mean that we dont have nicer things. As for the cash, maybe it is bill money..that 800 she had is 36 dollars more then what our mortgage payment is per month...

Dont get me wrong but there are people who do abuse the system, but rather then jumping to conclusions and deeming a guilty verddict ..take asecond and think why maybe they would have those things..

Also maybe itisnt snap fraud..might be insurance fraud she is committing by gesturing that she had an expensive purse and walet

Yeah, the hardest part would be for a guy with actual good intentions and decent morality and ethics being able to get on the ticket for the election in the first place. Should an independent candidate manage to come up with enough signatures to gain the ballot, they republicans AND the democrats will double team them in court challenging each and every signature until they have depleted the independent candidate of any funds necessary to mount any kine of public relations campaign, thus, limit your choice to one of the two lawyers they've paraded to the ballot.

LOL, I'm defending fraud? I think fraud of all sorts (welfare, financial, disability, unemployment) needs to be dealt with. I think everyone in their right mind would be against fraud. It's a bad thing. I'm against fraud in whatever form it comes in. Except fake tits. Those I'm okay with.

I thought this was America where you're innocent until proven guilty but apparently those less-American than I have no issues with handing out a sentence without any evidence. I didn't see any evidence to Ko's claims so I dismissed this as a trololololio thread and responded to it in kind.

Insurance fraud is what i was going for, and its a HUGE problem, i seriously doubt someone on food stamps will leave her $400 purse with $800 inside a $200 wallet in her car unattended, no freakn way!

Veru Astute post Serpentor. Lawyers are way overrepresented in our government with their "situational ethics" classes and other obfuscation training dogma.

We need to get them all out of the congress, and senate and get some real Citizens up there, the backbone type people like a farmer, or a pipefitter, and not Joe the Plumber either, a butcher, baker and candlestick maker could do a better job than the clowns we have up there now.

The "welfare queen" doesn't exist, KoH. That person never existed.

In Pennsyvania, a single person on welfare receives exactly $15,512. Pre-tax. Annually.

The only "fraud" in the 2012 election was committed by Republicans -- who were proven to tear up legitimate Democrat voter registrations in Florida.

Because according to Republicans, blacks and poors shouldn't be allowed to vote.

Shows so much about how our social welfare system is so screwed up...

1. we refuse to let them save any money, so they have to spend everything they get (hence, $400 purse)
2. we provide a huge maze of different programs to provide for every need, so it teaches that no real need is an individual responsibility.
3. all government programs are provided without regard to any effort on the beneficiary part... so again we teach that the government 'owes' everything to the individual, and the individual is responsible for nothing in return.
