Cabin in the Woods has to be the worst movie ever. The story makes no sense, the ending is retarded, the plot is no-existent and all in all this was the first movie where I could legitimately say I wasted part of my life watching it. How this movie got good reviews boggles my mind. If you have seen it I am curious if you agree with me. If you have not seen it for the love of all that is good do not watch it!!!!!

the genre on a whole needs more well written story lines and more boobies and less horrible special effects.

I actually liked it. However I usually go with a 1-5 rating system with 1 being kill me now and 5 being can watch a million times(the lion king) Given the genre, not a real fan, I'd give it a 3(avg) as it kept me entertained.

The horror genre needs a series rebooting. I think joss whedon did an excellent job with it. I thought the plot was not only clever but also very unique. The characters were likeable and there were some actually kinda scary parts. I thought it was a great movie. 4/5

idk how you could reboot an entire genre? I just feel as though so few big budget horror movies are made each year that when there is a bad or good one people tend to overreact. This movie was one of the better.

im glad im not the only one who said WTF the entire movie. i think i fell asleep during the last 5 minutes before i got to see the ending. they just got off the elevator last i remember but didnt care enough to watch the rest the next day because it was such a terrible movie

i personally like terrible movies when they arent trying to pretend that its supposed to be a good movie. for example starship troopers series, terribad acting, horrible SFX but awesome at the same time

also steven segal movies, clearly low budget with bad acting but always a good watch.

Cabin in the Woods was both great and hilarious. Maybe you should loosen up your underwear before watching it. The movie requires a serious suspension of disbelief, though afaik, most movies in the horror genre require that as well.

You also have obviously never seen such masterpieces as The Room, or Battlefield Earth.

ok ok ok maybe it was not the worst movie ever made BUT it was the worst movie I have ever seen haha. The movie just left everything so unexplained, or crappily explained. I mean come on they try to go for this realistic setting but then we got a Force Field inbetween a bottomless chasm, we got hundreds of horror creatures stuck in elevators we got some "gods" waiting for their, what we can only assume, is weekly blood filling. Then to top it off we get main characters who get, mauled by a werewolf, stabbed through the chest (and dragged), and other things and ARE FINE!!!!! Like I said worst movie I have ever seen, I am not a huge horror fan so maybe that doesnt help, but still.

Theres one that grossed like $36 bucks, that be the all time worst IMO lol

We left Rubber at work and talked it up as a slow start and awesome 2nd half... So many guys watched almost the whole thing before realizing they were duped into watching the worst movie ever.

Human centipede 2 was probably one of the worst also. Another one that floated around work that I stupidly watched. Terrible terrible terrible.

I think your expectations of it were so far from what you actually got that you couldn't handle it and left the movie feeling betrayed. I honestly wouldn't even call it a 'horror' movie, because it doesn't quite fit into the same category.

Also, midnight meat train is another terrible but awesome movie

I had terrible expectations headed in... I was outvoted on the movie of the night by my friends... Needless to say the general consensus was either worst movie seen in a while to one of the worst ever.

I enjoyed Cabin in the Woods... because there is nothing else like it. Frodo, if you wish to watch movies that follow a cookie cutter pattern, watch Texas Chainsaw Massacre or some crap like that. Joss Whedon is OUR generation of directors who will change the way that we watch movies. He's not in it for the money or he'd have never done Firefly, Dollhouse, or Cabin in the Woods. He did take on the Avengers... and I think he did quite well.

Honestly... I'd like to see a horror film by J.J. Abrams. That dude is doing great things.

I'm going to explain the title "Cabin in the Woods" and why some are saying it sounds like a "chick flick". If you've seen the movie (which, im not sure why you'd be talking about it if you havent...) then you'd know that the whole scenario of having the 5 archetypical teenagers in a house in an isolated place is what all teenie bopper horror/date movies have in common.

-alpha male
-whore (hottie with a body)
-stoner (comedic relief)
-Intelligent guy (who happens to be half black)
-and the goodie two shoes virgin

It's all spelled out in the movie what is going on and why these 5 types of people are in the scenario. It's supposed to be a little comedic, a LOT fantasy, and totally different.

BUT, I guess there will always be people who don't appreciate highly ranked movies...

I mean, I hated the most recent Batman movie... I thought it was unpolished and disjointed... almost as if whoever edited the movie thought it would be a crime to discard anything that was filmed.

I liked the plot. I thought it worked well for me, that someone was controlling the outcome. Then it got really good when the whole thing blew up in their faces, and all hell broke loose.

The last 15 minutes made me like it even more.

I have to admit the japanese thing gave me a wtf moment.
