I agree with you. The demise of Republican presidential candidates is early voting. The Democrats now have an entire month to bribe and beg every bum in every housing project in every city to turn out. You give them just a week to find these people sober enough to vote, its not as likely... but they've got a whole month now. I don't believe there are enough decent people to overcome this advantage.

Romney lied through his teeth the whole time.

He is playing for the ultra-low information voters, the people who may only see him at the (debate, convention, whatever is happening that current moment). Even a casual investigation into his claims will poke more holes in them than a piece of swiss cheese.

He's desperate, as he should be. He's never broken out of the low 40's nationally (let alone sniffed 50%) and every single swing state has shown strong trends towards Obama.

I will truly miss Romney when this is all over though, having right-wing nutjobbery being exposed to national scrutiny every single day. Soon, the insane theories (anything Klown writes for instance) will be limited to the House..... Assuming that the GOP can keep it, which is no longer assured =)

And Obama didn't lie? For example, repeating the lie from that study claiming Romney will raise taxes on the middle class? Romney has stated the following:

1) He is going to cut the marginal tax rate for all brackets.
2) He will not add to the deficit in doing so.
3) He is going to pay for the marginal rate cut by eliminating deductions for the upper brackets.

The name of the group that did the study escapes me, but they looked at this and said that at a marginal rate cut of 20%, all 3 assumptions cannot hold. Therefore, the assumption Romney is going to violate is number three and eliminate deductions for lower tax brackets.

Obama has taken this and run with it, saying Romney is going to raise taxes on middle class families by $2500. He can get away with this lie because of the study. The flaw in the study is that for whatever reason, they say the assumption Romney will violate is number three. Romney has never said any such thing. Would it not make more sense, rather than violating one of the three promises, instead to keep them by decreasing the cut to the marginal rate? Say, decrease the marginal rates by 15% instead of 20%. By doing that, Romney is keeping his promises and is NOT raising taxes on the middle class. Instead, they assume he will break his promise because they set that 20% number in stone, which is dishonest.

Edit:
I should also mention that the study neglects to account for economic growth, which will broaden the base.

You have to remember Klown, "Romney said" is not what "Romney will do." He can wrap everything up into nice neat four point presentations and it sounds great, but to put these things into practice is when we see what a politician really is.

1. Oversaw the creation of more jobs in 2010 alone than Bush did in eight years. http://bit.ly/hrrnjY

2. 12. Along with Democrats, and almost no Republicans, implemented an auto industry rescue plan, and saved as many as 1 million jobs. http://bit.ly/ibhpxr Many are of the opinion that he saved the entire auto industry, and even the economy of the entire Midwest. http://bit.ly/gj7mt5 This resulted in GM returning to its place as the top car company in the world. http://lat.ms/zIJuQx Willard Romney, on the other hand, advocated for the entire industry to go belly-up.

3. Signed the Democratic-sponsored Fraud Enforcement and Recovery Act giving the federal government more tools to investigate and prosecute fraud in every corner of the financial system, and create a bipartisan Financial Crisis Inquiry Commission to investigate the financial fraud that led to the economic meltdown.

4. Through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, saved at least 300,000 education jobs, such as teachers, principals, librarians, and counselors that would have otherwise been lost.

5. Pushed through, signed and demanded the Pentagon enact a repeal of the discriminatory “Don’t Ask Don’t Tell” policy that forced soldiers to lie in order to be eligible to fight for their country, and put our troops at risk by disqualifying many qualified soldiers from helping. and a lot of same sex marriage stuff.

6. Closed a number of secret detention facilities that used torture. Ordered the closure of the prison at Guantanamo Bay. It was Republicans (and, unfortunately, progressive Democrats) who prevented follow through.

7. Authorized a $1.4 billion reduction in Star Wars program in 2010.

8. Through the Defense Authorization Act, reversed the Bush Administration and committed to no permanent military bases in Iraq... after getting out of there... saving trillions of sheep.

9. Bin Laden

10. Funded Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) with an extra $1.4 billion to improve veterans’ services.

11. Provided active combat troops with better body armor.

12. Repeatedly increased funding for student financial aid, and at the same time cut the banks completely out of the process.

13. Created the Race to the Top program, which encouraged states to come up with effective school reforms and rewards the best of them.

14. Restored federal agencies such as FEMA to the point that they have been able to manage a huge number of natural disasters successfully.

15. Reoriented Government to an Adult View on Science, Technology and Health Care

16. Through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, committed more federal funding, about $18 billion, to support non-defense science and research labs.

17. Oversaw a 50% decrease in cost of prescription drugs for seniors

18. Two weeks after taking office, signed Democratic-sponsored Children’s Health Insurance Reauthorization Act, which increased the number of children covered by health insurance by 4 million.

19. Through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act , cut taxes for 95% of America's working families. Tax rates for average working families are the lowest since 1950 http://bit.ly/eSEI4F

20. Cracked down on companies that were previously denying sick pay, vacation and health insurance, and Social Security and Medicare tax payments through abuse of the employee classification of independent contractor.

21. Eliminated federal funding for abstinence-only education, and rescinded the global gag rule.

22. Loosened the rules and allowed the 14 states that legalized medical marijuana to regulate themselves without federal interference. (also admitted the war on drugs is a waste of time and money).

23. Became the first to stream every White House event, live. Now that's transparency.

24. Signed an order banning gifts from lobbyists to anyone in the Executive Branch.

25. Signed an order banning anyone from working in an agency they had lobbied in previous years, and put strict limits on lobbyists’ access to the White House.

Should I continue?

Cougar, the reason is because most on the left don't see the unintended consequences of the actions being listed or they are listing petty things.

1. job growth at what price? How many trillions were spent to prop up this economy for just awhile longer, thereby causing a larger crash when there won't be a backstop later? I woulda hoped that with as much money as our government spent we wouldn't have anything other than unprecedented growth.

2. Propped up bad business practice by keeping a business afloat when it shouldn't be there anymore. Sounds an awful lot like the financial crisis now that I mention it like that.

3. Yes, a government agency to check for fraud and abuse...pot, meet kettle.

4. Using borrowed money to prop up an inefficient industry that needs to be changed lest we start moving lower on the international ladder of education.

5. meh, Ill give him this one. I'm not a huge proponent either way, but give them freedom.

6. Ah, ordered the closure...is it closed?

7. I'm assuming you mean NASA here, which is one of the few government agencies that has actually produced something, but sure whatever, the fewer agencies the better.

8. Yea, reversal of Bush's Iraq policy by following a strangely similar plan for withdrawl. Sure, Obama did it, whatever you say.

9. I know it was his intel strategy that captured Bin Laden right? Or was it just lucky that we finally found him? Kudos to actually giving the order though.

10. Uhuh, I bet if I looked this up I would find that 1.4B would be almost nothing in the total funding and it has gone up slower under his administration than any other. So, yea, peanuts to this one.

11. Yea...whatever you say. I know Bush had been fighting against giving our guys better body armor. *rolls eyes*

12. Yes, the government having full control over who gets loans and who doesn't. I cannot see this being abused in the future. Say...hypothetically someone would need to complete a certain number of hours of community service to get loans, or whatever. Definitely possible.

13. No Child Left Behind v.2 Thanks for that, I just know the federal government won't mess it up as bad this time right? Check out our education system now vs before the DoEducation was created. Freaking joke they've done to our education system.

14. Whatever, people scream about Katrina, only the problem wasn't really what people think it was. If he claims he did this, whatever...

15. Ok, yea that has no substance, but I assume you mean stem cell research in which Bush wasn't allowing Federal dollars to fund stem cell research. Didn't ban it outright mind you...just federally funded.

16. Okay, borrowed more money, I guess that's good now.

17. Uhuh, and what raise in healthcare costs as a whole? If you looked into the industry of prescription drugs and why things cost as much as they do, you might think twice about a statement like that since the government is the main reason drugs cost so much.

18. Ah yes the first signature forcing the hand of private business. You know, you just can't trust a company you voluntarily pay to insure you, can you.

I'm bored....the point is Obama has done some things, just most of it isn't good in the long term. He has propped up things just long enough and created a dependency group in the populace, neither of which are good.

You mean I refuse to bend towards things that will hurt us in the long run? When I say it hurts the country it is because I have thought the process through and came to that conclusion. I don't support candidates, but ideas. If Obama wants to do something that would actually help us, then do it and I would stand behind him. As it stands he continually looks towards government, which only makes things worse.

CKHustler: I'm not going to pretend to be an expert on all those policies, but Race to the Top is a truly good educational program that has led to some innovation in some districts.

No Child Left Behind (which, admittedly, wasn't just Pres. Bush, considering Sen. Ted Kennedy was one of the main authors) was a garbage law. It attempted to hold schools and teachers more accountable, but set up a system where it would ultimately become impossible for any schools to actually pass the federal threshold expected. It really was attempting to not leave a single child behind, the eventual threshold was that 100% of kids would have to pass the state exam or the school was listed a failure. So one kid has a bad day or decides to mail it in because he doesn't care, and the school is listed as failing.

Furthermore, NCLB also left it up to the states what was going to be on their tests, which led to many states creating tests that were considering well below grade level.

The only good thing about NCLB is its intention, which is to hold teachers and schools more accountable for the state our educational system is in.

CKHustler

Twain, my beef isn't with what is in the program itself. I'm sure there are things that are good, just as people thought with NCLB, but whenever the federal government gets involved in something like this, it never works out right.

My solution is to get the federal government out of it entirely and have the states, or better yet a lower level of government, have the freedom to do whatever is needed. Since Race to the top is federal money, it will never allow the kind of freedom districts need to function correctly.

That is my beef...not the program itself, but the fact that there is a program in existence.

Obama is a joke, unemployment is at 7.8% but for every job he creates 3-4 people stop looking for work. Our current workforce at the moment is equal to the workforce of 1981, that was 30 years ago. Our debt, which he promised to cut in half, has ballooned to 16 trillion under his watch. According to Obama to fix the country, the government is the answer, on every level.

I am not interested in government being the answer for everything, and that is what Obama is serving. Its about ideology. His level of class warfare is a joke, how rich people need to "pay their fair share" yet the top 20 percent of Americans pay 94% of federal taxes. Read this article to get an idea, http://www.forbes.com/...iving-you-on-tax-policy/.

To think that your 25 points validates his presidency it far from does, you people are looney toons if you think he is a great president and just staunch leftist zealots who will gush over his immaculation if he gets re-elected.

I say this as a man who voted for him in 2008. So don't even approach the talking line of calling me a conservative.

Instead of working together on things, you would way rather be divided. That's so messed up it's unreal. It's borderline treasonous.

Mitt worked with a 84% democratic led government in Massachusettes and led his state to a surplus, #1 in education in the US, and health care reform that worked for their state. Obama is the divisive one, any of his major bills that passed were rammed through by all Democratic votes and no Republican votes. Obama is just as to blame as someone that fails to work across the isle.

Also, Obama's proposed budgets were shot down 99-0 and 414-0 in the congress, a flawless victory. He, if anyone, doesn't know how to work across the isle.

This is a graph of the Congressional Filibuster...

As for me hating someone who cuts down EVERYTHING Obama does, it's not hypocritical because I'm not in government... and I'm not even American. Why would I need to try and compromise with someone who clearly is idealogically against everything on the left. Just like Romney says he can ignore the 47%... i can ignore you. BUT, in Congress, your people gotta learn how to work together better. By that, I mean Obama as well.

lol... Star Wars associated with NASA... that's rich. If you think this is true, can I take any other things you say seriously?

I suggest you also watch the Jon Stewart vs Bill O'Reilly debate that aired last night... even these two found some common ground.
