You serious Italy? It was THEIR house. He had a fluffing GPS tracking her... video cameras... that is pretty damn creepy. Not sure if it was only to see if she was cheating or something but either way I don't see why one person should have the rights to make a decision for both people like that. Creepy...

LI, it is her home too, right? Shouldn't she have some expectation of privacy in her own home?

I know I'd be pretty pissed if I started finding hidden cameras in my... HEY, WHAT'S THAT BLINKING LIGHT?

By the law he did nothing illegal. Crazy yes, and damn straight she should get away from the guy, but at the same time, even if it was only something in his head, something set him off to believe that she was cheating on him or whatever.

Sorry, but do you need permission to do anything in your home? No. People have there own gadgets in there house that there living mate might not know about. Cameras can be included in that imo. He is recording his own home. So whatever activities that he captures is fair game. Also I dont remember now, but maybe he had some ownership in the vehicle. GPS is just protecting his assets, and could even be low jack for all we know. You are allowed, and entitled to, after all, know everything that goes on in your household 24/7 and apparently he didnt trust his wife to get that info in a conventional means.

Are you fluffing fluffting me? A crime committed in your home is still a crime. Just a reply to your general statement.

Anyhow - it was her home as well. I think she had a reasonable expectation to privacy. It's like you're not allowed to put a camera in a toilet, even if you own the toilet. Except on a larger scale, because as a tenant she should have an expectation to privacy.

You don't have the right to read another person's emails, you don't have the right to track another person using GPS, you don't have the right to keep video of another person taken without their consent when they could have expected privacy. Seriously, imagine if a flatmate did this to you...
