That is usually my problem, with the sets shortened it seems you are stocking one minute and destocking the next heh

Of course, but if you're running 0 defense you're not really netting anyway right? So as long as violators were made to suffer it would be a success.

Actually, I was netting. I was using pure DR defense to help me keep most of my land, no military except for 1 spy to keep expenses at a minimum, food and tech prices were pretty decent, and I had reached my land goal (11k acres) by day 4, while using my income to buy cheap bus/res tech and stock.

It's just that if someone spends ~200 turns on you, no amount of DR will protect you. Also, if I had missiles, they would have probably been defused quite easily and quickly (think my GDI would have protected them tho).

Don't bother Ko, it wasn't his fault, he actually might care about express whereas I do not :P

What makes you think you would find my country anyways? I can straight out tell which is mine, or have fun and let you use whatever resources you have to find me haha

I wasn't abusing DR. I never attacked anyone, and pretty much everyone had the capacity to LG me however they wanted. I mean, really, who can't do a 1 jet PS?

P.S. I even got the free/permanent GDI bonus, so your poor countries didn't even have to go through the trouble of making sure I didn't have any def allies.

There's a small difference between 'using' and 'abusing'. The difference being how many people cry about it and how many mods delete the country doing it.

Thanks for agreeing with me :) point is, where is the line? If I run an all jetter and get farmed and make retals, am I abusing dr or is that strategic? If I have 500k jets and 50k turrets, almost anybody can still grab me, but is that abusing dr? I guess my point is, do I have to be nice to blid and crest to not be called a cheater or can I keep telling them to blow me so they stop complaining about my countries on every fluffing server?

Here's something that I did last reset that no one who 'abuses' DR ever does:

1) I ran, as a rep/casher, with no defense for most of the reset.

2) I offered my land freely, no strings attached. No allies to calculate for, no weapons tech, nothing.

3) I made it as easy as possible for others to obtain all the info they needed, in the most efficient way possible.

4) I never made a single attack--no LGs, no retals, no special attacks or spy ops. Nothing.

5) I didn't get deleted.

How did someone bounce?

They bounced after I started destocking and jumping on day 5. And, IIRC, they knew I had defense because of their military losses.

Speaking of losses, some of the countries that grabbed me lost gargantuan amounts of military when I didn't have anything to defend with. It's like they got the spy op, then decided to send 100k tanks or a million jets anyways. That may be why he bounced.

BTW, after dumping all stock and completing my jump, I realized I still had ~140 turns left, and ~$130m cash on hand, so I tried cashing and buying food to see if I made any money by using all my turns.

Ended up with ~$150m cash on hand. Especially after food went up to like $59.

Bug, you have perhaps the premier force in the art of the DR as a leader in your clown that can educate you precisely on the difference between using and abusing DR and yet you come here to ask such a dumb question.

The difference between using and abusing DR is simple, 4 of Mr. Titanium's 12 purple countries were as a result of DR abuse.

FWIW, I wouldn't care so much if bug abused DR, it at would at least help him get into the top 50.

Don't do it though bug, you have enough purples already your self.

while there's not a precise answer about DR, I think it is actually pretty easy to spot just by observing and using common sense. A country getting a lot of land and being protected by DR is usually where there is a problem. This could be a country top feeding people for 1000s of acres a pop while deep enough in DR to only lose 50 acres back. This could be a country just gaining land effectively and getting huge while intentionally being kept in DR (no defense or a DR monkey) - and thus being safe from normal attacks a large country might suffer. There may be a scenario where it could be unfair from an all-ex, althuogh NukEvil took some pretty big losses and wasn't up to anything fishy.

bug I've never mentioned anything about any of your countries on any server, except your Primary country. I mentioned it because
1) having massive tech leeches for no reason is kind of lame, and
2) passing thousands of acres of free land to someone is lame
