Names/cutoffs/etc. What strategies are doing well this set? I'm not playing, so I have nothing to add to this, but it's time this setly tradition of a top 5 thread begins=).

Really hard to guess, but right now

cheap food -> great for stocking techers, great for cashers
cheap military -> great for cashers, nice for techers

cheap military -> bad for indies, but there's so many big talented indies causing it, some will place high
cheap food -> farmers are screwed

A commie will win it. The commie I tip to win is not the fattest at the moment though, but I still think he will take it - thats because I know who is playing it

Also I know we say this every set, but this time around with the low food prices and dirt cheap tech starting from this month, all top 10s will b above 100m. In fact I think at least 12 people will have more than 100m NW.

#167 is having a brilliant round. as I said I think he'll be the top commie. btw, no one told me this, but i assume it's bakku, so that kind of finish should be expected. I stop short of saying he'll win because, after a good start for commies, this now looks like a casher's round. I don't know who to pick.

#140 is way more impressive to me. After getting retalled and hit many times and if he wasn't so noob at attacking with the multiple DHs he would be at ~70k acres. The no SDI might hurt him sooner or later when the suiciders decide to start having their fun.

If he was at 70k acres right now he would have had to sell more military in building those acres along the way, keeping net down earlier and leaving himself open to more top feeds. It's a fine balance in having the military to defend, attack, and sell enough to buy tech and build. If you sell too much to build, your military and tech suffers and you get topfed.

Anyways, most of those 6 DHs woulda been about 500 acre grabs.

Gotta get physical resists up for that trep (Mortar does physical grenade damage, not Fire - this is from Bradygames guide for D3).

Armor and Resists multiply off each other for damage reduction.

the rep and theo cashers should be able to take 1 and 2 easily but i'm not sure which one of them will win. if i had to guess, though, i'd say the theo

oh, and techers never have a shot in primary :P

yea it all depends on when military prices start to rise and how high. now that i think about it again the rep might be golden here with the absurd number of CI's over 60k acres and the still ridiculous military prices

Bakku, i disagree with your statement that a techer doesnt have a shot in primary. Obviously no shot in this sets tech market, but in some of those 2.2k average price markets, a techer can make 140m nw with a clean set.
