Do not read books on a daily basis and seek only shallow understanding of the world and concepts that surround you.

i bought'em da Chronicles of Thomas Covenant da Unbeliever for my Nook today. you should try digging a really deep hole if you're really interested in understanding the world and it's concepts. hmmm, actually you could just go jump in the Cave of Swallows in Mexico. that's a pretty deep hole. so tempting to try not to remind you to take a parachute.

Just b/c you are reading doesn't mean you have a good understanding of the world.

For example, reading a flat earth conspiracy theorist book, wouldn't exactly make you any more well informed:)

or reading worldnetdaily for that matter.

or twilight!

so my friend Aponic, your post is incomplete:)

I will enjoy!!

The girl sitting next to me on the plane coming home seemed unhappy until I pulled out the book to read, and then she couldnt stop talking about it ... I asked for NO spoilers ... and then we had a lengthly discussion about S.King books, and the show Haven, and his movies. She said she couldnt stop reading 11/22/63 either.

I really liked The Black House, very hard to get into but once I got past the boring beginning I read the whole thing... think it was a compilation of Peter Straub and Stephen King. I have no idea if they are the same person or not lol I love stephen king, but he has some confusing things... like is the bachman books actually 2 people writing or is it just king with a split personality? lol I tried remembering because the last stephen king book I read was about 5 years ago and I have read probably all of them, but now I cannot remember anything from his books. :/

Peter Straub is a different person, Richard Bachman IS Stephen King.

If you read Black House, you must have read The Talisman? Thats one of my favorites.

I've read a lot of books. But I never read a book and figured out the theme of the book without sparknotes or without someone else telling me. Not to say I don't sort of have an "Aha" moment when someone tells me, but I still never get it.
