Some time ago there was a thread where we were discussing the future expansion of this game and attracting new players.

2 key discussion points I was talking about were iPhone/Android app versions of the game and a facebook version of the game and it was stated that these things were in consideration.

I was just wondering whether this has progressed at all past an idea and if you are actively seeking to implement them at some stage.

I do believe that those 2 initiatives would yield us a solid influx of new players, which this game badly needs. If we can get new players into the game, older players would also be attracted back to it.

no, i believe the answer is 'we're waiting till the facebook release to put cool things in the game'

The last I heard was they are making overhaul to the backend of the game code before they do all that stuff.

that + new design that will hopefully draw ppl in more and help explain what the game is and actually make it so we teach ppl the game, rather than dropping you on the login page with no real direction.

so in short, technical back end changes + user experience update

Making it have FB accessibility would be awesome. Could add a lot of land to the server!

who says they would play on alliance?

besides avg fb-games player would want friends to send them things like in farm- etc villes and mafia.

We've been hearing stories about FB functionality since EE first launched...

i wager we'll see the FB functionality and other big changes about the same time we see the firefly series back on TV

firefly movie was ok although not anywhere near what series was.

we realized we needed to actually add another season before we do the movie.

And no, it would not mean new land for this server. But it would mean more people on Primary to recruit into Alliances here.

^ As per the above thread maybe it would be appropriate to somehow add "Advanced" to the Alliance Server label to further distinguish it from Primary Server.

The thing about this server is it is far more advanced with the complexities of Alliance relations and politics than other servers and as such people would be better informed if it was labelled in such a way.

i was working on some changes earlier tonight that are part of the effort to make things more n00b friendly :)

If you want someone to beta test and give opinions hit me up. I work in marketing so should be able to provide at least a little bit of input ;)

Yea, I'm a good way through updating the back-end stuff; when that's done, pang will have an easier time of updating the look & feel... plus forum+game integration will make all that stuff easier too....

what about a Netting Server?

can't get better n00b protection .
Perhaps more will keep playing if they didn't get "farmed" just because they play untagged.
