Maybe that was grumpy's point. Maybe he's a grumpy extremist Christian seeking to rid the world of athiests.

Of course, that's just a hypothetical. He could just be a really nice guy with no alterior motives, but why take the chance. Some mod should punish him for this.

Christmas is still a stat holiday for athiests.... and stat holidays can always be merry :) Even labour day or halloween!

We should all start saying Merry Labour Day! and Merry Halloween! :)

Not sure when Christ was ever removed from Christmas, but that would seem a rather difficult task as it's CHRISTmas.

From my understanding, it was primarily the (Fox) Christians who were upset, that people were "taking the Christ out of Christmas" by saying things like "Happy Holidays" or having a "Tree lighting Ceremony" rather than CHRISTmas tree

Finally did the signature thing.

Christmas is a holiday, not a day of worship. The Bible does not prescribe Christmas. There is no reason why Jesus needs to be a major part of our modern traditions. I think the feelings that modern Christmas evokes in people are much more in line with what Jesus wants than a birthday cake.

Most things about christmas as we know it are pagan in nature, not to mention the fact its about 3 months late. The date of December 25th was chosen by the church to let people convert, but keep the same general practices for the holiday of Yule (various spellings depending on culture).

If you look closely enough, the same holds true for most Christian holidays. Nothing but pure genius if you ask me.
