The short length of express isn't very compatible with the current bonus system. We have future plans to modify the bonus categories to make them more appropriate for each server, but if we did this in express, countries could not play turns for the first two days and play their first turn with 24 bonus points already invested. That could be a major advantage over a country that simply played turns as it got them.

I'm asking two questions here:

1) Should we make bonus points expire at the next midnight GT moment?

2) Should we offer different categories for Express? If so, which ones?

I don't like the idea of a set expiry time, but perhaps you could make it so you must use them within 28 hours of being awarded them or similar... so you could still save up for the free GDI, but it would limit the cumulative benefits of the late start you mentioned.

I agreed that current bonus system may not benefit for express player.

For me, decrease the spending points of particular bonus may help to maximize the used of the bonus point.

12 points to decrease expenses
16 points to increase defend
and so on is too costly for the short duration game.

Changing the point spending to 50% from original may help out a lot.

Just personal opinion.

Why not set up a bonus award system every 4.8hrs available only to express preferably an extra button on the left side menu. 4.8hrs will get you the same amount of turn as alliance for 24hrs.

Zip, 5 days is perfect. If you want more turns, fight for every 12 minutes instead of every 15 rather than an extra day.

I say we give people a certain amount of bonus points everyday at 00:01. These bonus points will expire in 24h.

4.8hrs in express gets you the same amount of turns as of alliance in 24hrs..

Decreasing the time to get bonuses would make it useful. I always thought bonuses were not as good on the short servers. So basically speed up the time when you are able to get them. Maybe every 4 hours you get bonuses, instead of the normal 24.

I'd be more inclinded to go with a decrease in a cost of the bonus's in accordence with the speed of the server....at least as a first step
half doesn't seem quite enough tho...maybe a third, or a quarter?

Such a setup would be biased to those that are able to be on their countries multiple times per day. I think keeping the same bonus timing, eliminating the permanent bonuses (except maybe free GDI), and sticking with turns and boom events gives the best balance.

I like the idea of having the bonus's every 4 hours. i realize that it wouldn't work with the current voting system but maybe it could be set up to award the bonus points when you login every four hours after you voted. The way i see it you don't get the points on the other servers when your not voting on a timely basis. Why give away free points gotta show up to claim your prize. i would then cap the points on 24 hour timeline. use them or lose them. maybe go as far as to cap how many points you can hold at once to 24 hours to negate some of the advantages of storing the turns. Possibly set the bonus's on a turn used to claim bonus's so countries would have to use x amount of turns. Set the bonus's on a leveling system to match evenly turns played.

I liked ChaosWind's suggestion.

Just eliminate the other stuff, and leave bonuses as booms and turns. Make these about 3-5 times cheaper though, or the bonuses are pretty meaningless on this server. Change is definitely needed to make them relevant.

The turn cycle is 4 minutes versus Primary server's 30 minutes. If you use a similar ratio of 1:7½ or 13.33%, the bonus rewards should be magnified by 7½

I have only gotten the 18 hour bonus once in all the Express games I have played, so I would decrease the 18 hour bonus to about 2.4 (18 x .133) to make the game more comparable to Primary.

There's an 18 hour bonus in Express!!!? I did not know that. Also, I conveniently get my posting bonus on Express right after the set ends, EVERY SET!!!

allow the amount of points you can turn into turns be the same for stored turns. if i can turn points into six turns, and i have 16 turns stored, i should get the six and the six stored leaving ten turns.

That's it!

IF we could claim 6 extra turns every 2.4 hours, ten times a day, that could potentially be 300 extra turns for the entire five day set. That would be even better than messing with any of the other bonuses.
