Suppose you're a mid-sized alliance (~30) that's really bored and doesn't care about reputation and only wants to have fun. For one reset only, they

1. Stock oil for a couple weeks.
2. A couple weeks into the reset, they launch a FS that kills all oilers on the server.
3. Continue killing oilers.

Would they be able to survive that reset? How long will it take for the rest of the server to adjust and start producing oil? Would they be able to dominate for that reset?

first of all they would need to buy out the whole market,

secondly they would need to FS pretty much all alliances that have oilers (I would say most war prepped alliances would have stocked oil)

So - NO they would not last long.

Yeah, a lot of farmers in war tags make their own oil. If oil prices got high enough, all the restarts would be oilers for a while. A midsized tag could not pull it off, but a bigger war tag could carry it for a week or to.

Being an oiler would be a tough way to war prep prior to the war.

if oil is at 50-100 bucks (like most of set)then its not that profitable to produce oil.

It makes me sad that ~30 is a mid-sized alliance now ;(
(bring back 50 - small, 100 - mid, 150 - large)

iMag can get like 2 or 3 kills in their FS so wouldn't work.

Wow, when i saw the title to this thread i thought it was about you getting a sex change. That would have been funny. Your idea is not however. As soon as your FS gets launched you would all get killed by everyone else. Good try though.

What you should probably try doing is starting a clan full of oilers, and put oil on the market at very cheap, stable prices so no one else will see running oilers as a viable netting strategy.

Then, when the wars start up, increase the price (but keep the supply the same) as you see fit.

Of course, countries going to war will have stockpiles, but most of those run out sooner or later...

The war countries will have a lot of oil stocked from the cheap prices early on :P

what bkj said, warrers have tens of millions barrels of oil stocked.
