i'm not the one who closes his threads... i'm the one laughing at how by me doing what he wanted me to do (not get involved in the game's politics at all) what I wanted to happen ended up happening anyway :)

now if everyone can start to play a bit nicer, my actual goal for this server will be reached.

(also, if you want to talk about admins closing anti-admin threads, anoniem... you should take a little look closer within Evo. Glass house and all, like usual.)

my point was the admins (including some from evo) are the ones who set the policy on what is closed/deletion worthy.... bringing the mod/admin angle intothreads is something which is deletion-worthy

if I insult you about your ego as an evo member, insult mine as a PDMer, LaF'er, SoL'er, IX'er, whatever....
the general policy is aimed at other servers, and I seldom do anything about it other than a private message saying "hey,that's not cool" and explain the general policy unless it's really off the deep end :p

no need to flame this thread back up, forgotten. I just prefer not to ban people if I can avoid it...

usually I talk to folks in private (if I think they'll be reasonable) and resolve it for future cases, rather than just straight up banning. anon is no exception.

I make a comment about in-game stuff and the response is to attack my modding/adminning, saying I use my powers to close/delete threads I just don't like.

that's what the problem was here. and the fact that it's an evo-guy (the alliance with more admins/mods than any other, and also home of admins who move/close/delete/ban far more than I do) saying it is highly aggravating. those admins are the ones who help set the policies anoniem decided to attack me about.

they absolutely have ties... members of those alliances have access to the admins while playing there and should be aware of the policies regarding attacking admins for playing...

such as when admins are playing, attacking their admin'ing for things they say/do as players isn't cool. Admins don't get to use their admin powers to help their alliances, so they shouldn't be attacked for things they do as admins when they are simply trying to play like the rest of the server.

this is something I told to LaF all the time while I was there (telling some of them outright to not attack the admins for their adminning, only for their playing, even if they felt like they were being picked on) and something I've consistently told PDM while playing there. I did damage control to get LaF'ers to stop attacking admins for their mod/admin actions (hi forgotten and SS!) and allowed them to be banned for it but apparently flaming admins for their admin actions is a one-way street to some within evo.

do you guys in Evo not get that?

keep the playing and the adminning separate -- the admins do, I wish others would too.

however, if it's easier to avoid threads like this by simply deleting + banning every post I see which attacks admin'ing (which is what the actual policy is) then I can start doing that.

I'd MUCH rather debate ingame things with you guys than have this same stupid debate because some folks are too blind to see the difference between what is done in the interest of the game and what is done as a player.

thanks for taking my post out of context. you actually left out the next parts of my post which discuss how playing/adminning shouldn't be the same thing.

and I'm absolutely happy to get into a discussion with these evo folks about ingame issues, but it seems whenever I post anything they jump on the admin-side of things first and THAT's where the derailing really starts :p

I appreciate all the admins for keeping the game running and actually improving it.

Though, they are no gods.
