the idea is great, the implementation is alright... a few kinks to work out. if it was built into the hosting sites better or there was a shared board, that would make a big difference.

it's unfortunate that some other folks haven't come around to the idea of non-evil grabbing and are basically treating the countries on it as if they were unpacted.

Interclan grabbing is called landtrading. This pact is not.

How is it landtrading? We don't message PDM and go "ok, I have 250k turrets and 20k troops, 105% weps tech. Try to hit me around xx:00 blah blah blah" and then coordinate the "retal"...The pact simply outlines how much landgrabbing can go on between the two alliances.

Well to my understanding is having some countries that will grab and get grabbed while the rest will be protected under the terms of a normal NAP

This is definately landtrading as it's only a specific subset of countries that are inter-hitting. There are specific rules as who can be hit, how frequently they can hit, and who can retal. If it were landgrabbing, any country in the tag could retal. The only difference between this and intratag grabbing is there are multiple tags involved.

That said, I don't see anything wrong with getting land anyway you can.

If anyone wants to talk about similar such pacts, I have been developing some for Omega. Basically with the premise of allowing hits while people are still spending most of their resources to grow and then specifying specifics on how the normal retaling will go.

To clarify, so tags who aren't involved can understand what is going on, I'll post

Rival's Land Trade Pact:

Any clans wishing to sign this pact can do so at anytime, but inside the pact there is a clause that will tell you when and how the pact goes into effect, any currently pacted clans can upgrade to this pact as it doesn't take an entire clan to change policy and its more of a per member basis.

Rival may be switching this to our unpacted retal system but its yet to be discussed,

Is the pro-grabbing pacting PDM is experimenting with perfect? No. Is it at least an attempt to reintroduce the idea of landgrabs not having to be a pretext for hostility? Yes.

As such, its a work in progress that has merit.
