Paid for windows 7 HP and the CD key didn't work...

I agree with MrBlackNBlue. I can't stand Compaq, HP, Dell or Gateway. Buy your computer parts online and build it custom, it may cost more depending on what you want to do with it, but in the end you can't complain as you have what you want. :)

my PC is a custom build.... but did the right thing and bought a genuine copy of windows 7... seems the shop that built my PC have been installing OEM versions... norti norti...

i bought a Genuine copy and the serial supplied no the sticker was invalid(being OEM had been used more than the lisc allowed)

both parties wanted me to pay an Extra $88 to get a new key.....

At the point when i went of my tree at the manager of the store and made him understand they were selling fraudulent software they agreeed to fix it up for me ;)

if OS comes pre-installed from comp shop then there's a risk that they have used 1 key for all installations and not what reads on licence sticker.
