hmm, what slagpit asks is more in the vein of "how should we punish said cheating", than "is it acceptable practice"

to answer that; no not a perma-ban, unless repeat offender? deletion during the set is a good example to make however; leaving it until after doesn't send the right message IMO

p.s. I'm sure it helps that he didn't win :P

i reported him in-game about 24 hours before the set ended but nothing was done.

i'm not sure why he didn't win, i spied him with about an hour to go and he could have finished close to 40m

slagpit might be biased at times and sarcastic others, but i have never seen him condone unfair behaviour such as someone running a landfarm for another and then putting them in DR with it.

that being said wait and see if he tries to pull the same thing this set then report him.

I'm not sure if people have short memories or if they can't see the connection between things. I am the one who pushed for the "spirit of the rules" clause and even wrote it. This kind of behavior falls under the same category. As the rules are currently written, game mods do not have the authority to delete in cases like this.

However, I do have that authority. Whoever ran #17 would do well not to pull this crap again.

i was told #84/#17 would be retroactively deleted if it was determined their actions aren't condoned.

anyway, that's not a big deal. i just want to make sure if someone tried to do something like this again that they'd be deleted.

Perhaps it's worth looking into a system of escalation to admins that's more time appropriate for express? Or perhaps a temporary account freeze ability for mods?

Dunno...just thinking out loud, as I doubt this will stop just because stern words are issued.
