have the server pm anyone when their posts are deleted by a mod.

would make it clearer to users when/where they need to curb their behavior.

If your message auto-magically disappears, you should have the common sense to know maybe you crossed a line somewhere.

GE, maybe keeping track of your 53 posts might not be difficult, but when you post in many threads, this could be interesting. As far as I know, none of my posts have ever been deleted. This is highly doubtful!

I like aponic's message suggestion and seems like it should be trivial to automate something like this.

I noticed a few weeks ago that several of my posts were deleted and I was not warned. A simple message system would be pretty cool and since a deleted post is automatically thrown into some array that is searchable with mod access, adding in a line that messages the person the thread, timestamp, and content of what was deleted sounds like a nice step.

i saw it; it seemed like a reasonable idea though i wasn't sure how we'd implemented; i was hoping nuk or zarcon would mull over it and post :)
Finally did the signature thing.

don't do it. if they can't remember what they posted then they don't need to be notified about what got deleted.

what? they're actually going to take the time to change their behavior simply because their inbox is getting stuffed with automatic deletion notices? oh, wait, i see, if they get enough reminders that sufficient force will be applied to correct their behavior then they are guaranteed to oblige and start behaving properly. bah, it's some kinda gimmick so that they can count the posts that got deleted because they don't have the mental facilities to be able to do it themselves.

If your post gets deleted, it makes sense that you would be made aware of it. There are a lot of different boards on these forums.

Thanks for posting qz

doesn't make no sense to me. my posts usually get deleted when i drink too much and get outrageous. i have the right to make the posts, they have the right to delete them. the only reason to curb my behaviour would be if my posts were guaranteed not to be deleted.
