in ol' '51 the dodgers were playing the giants, a huge lead, thirteen and a half games. willie mays, needless to say, kicked the fluff out of those thirteen and a half games. the giants tied the dodgers for the pennant, playing a three game tie breaker. the giants win game one. the dodgers take game two. the giants win game three. A walk off home run known as the shot heard round the world (more important than that whole revolution thing, too).
