Seriously, fluff off. Tired of hearing all these people who have played 1a for 30 years and FFA for 1 set saying how FFA should work, STFU.

oh, and I don't care if this makes people leave the server, which it won't. Good Riddance

In a slightly more diplomatic way, I gotta agree with that. This isn't 1A. If it functioned like 1A it would lose the FFA style that makes the server unique.

Suggestions are always a good thing, but folks should keep in mind that this server has a very distinct dynamic that is very different from 1A. Personally, I think that's a very good thing in terms of growing the game - there's no sense in having 6 iterations of the same server.

On the contrary, I love when 1A folks try and impose their tactics here against the server's decade-old norms. ;)

I agree lefty - I just gave up playing there because of all the stupid BS.

Politics over there remind me of that episode of South Park where Ike's class has to vote on a class president....one or two adults trying to keep order in a room full of 5 year olds arguing with each other.

Is it just me, or are the 1A immigrants here (which I myself have to admit to being) much more hot headed than the old school FFA'ers as well?

I'm sure it has something to do with the fact that anyone that got started in old FFA is likely 5-10 yrs older than most folks who got started in Alliance....but it really does strike me as a distinct trait.

I admit to starting in alliance as well, but I played FFA pretty early on...Also somewhat embarrassing to admit was I came over in some clan called Eclipse (could be WAAAAY off) or some fluff that was all 1Aers trying to covertly infiltrate FFA...whatever, I ended up staying because bot running is fun ;)

LOL yeah i remember our first set here, IMP and others accused SoF of having stupid L:L policies funny thing was they had the exact same policies! And most of you do and I do find that quite amusing cause your all acting like FFA is so different when its not if anything its only more mediocre and laid back then 1a but thats about the only difference

You all ramble about how L:L is stupid and then you use the same policies yerself most of the time just formulate it differently and afaik all policies comes from 1a to begin with.

fluff!

In that case and what the war started about, actually it wasnt IMP sorry was PANLV anyway

Was an all jetter with low land hitting a guy with higher land, so we retalled L:L they got upset about it and retalled the retal I said fine then im going to run all jetters and topfeed you back and PANLV said noo we have rules against that if you run all jetters on us we do 2:1 (L:L is a lot nice then 2:1 99% of the time)

Rather amusing, besides if you wanna do 1:1 on all hits by all means go a head all tags can have their different policies if you dont like it well either dont grab them or be ready to war over it.

you were lucky they only wanted 2:1 , generally all jetters doing grabs are killed, which is exactly what you should have done

since pan should know better

makes it more amusing then if they got upset that we wanted L:L and they would have killed it and they complained about it

either way doesnt matter now, was settled in that war afaik

I've noticed this the past couple days as well (which is when I started playing again) Interestingly, I always got the impression that it was the other way around. Back in the day the 1Aers could be more serious and stuck up about the game... but FFAers were by FAR the more hot-headed of the two.

It's real easy to be more hot headed when you're running 200 - 500 countries like several of us used to do. There were the few that ran 1,000 countries *winks at certain players "gone straight"* ;)

*Snicker*

WarTime, You're absolutely correct.

BS, I agree... though I never ran more an a couple hundred... I didn't eve have time for that then. I just did what I felt I had to for my clan. No way could I do that again. 16 is fine, and balances the server. So far I've enjoyed my return to playing.

Back then I had to have something to keep me occupied while trying to rehab my injuries. It was real easy to get totally absorbed in the game to keep myself from going nuts. But, one finger typing, with your opposite hand, took forever. lol As my injuries improved I started running as many as I could handle even though it took me 3 - 4 days to get through them all. Times change and you start getting "responsibilities". Now the "dog eat dog" real world matters more.
I laugh my azz off now at these guys that set their mIRC alarm to wake them up. roflmfao Life is more important than this game. They want my countries that bad? Go for it but don't wake me up.
