It's not really an apples-to-apples comparison of isis-to-hussein.

With the 2003 war, there was a big song and dance to prove Iraq was doing things that made them worth fighting/deposing their regime in the first place.

In 2014, ISIS is outright committing atrocities, planning to take over/kill more people... and then publishing what they do on YouTube for the world to see; basically throwing down the gauntlet to the West and their regional allies.

The other piece is that the only reason this situation has come about is because of the power vacuum created by the other ill-advised war and the horrible post-invasion planning their-in.

If anything, this war is more Bush's fault than Obama's, TBH.

Far more Americans come into Canada (with counterfeit Canadian health cards) to receive free treatment than Canadians crossing over to pay for services in the US, both on an Absolute and a per-capita basis.

We have formed committees to try to come up with solutions to the issue of Americans free-riding our system.

Luckily, due to the movement to electronic health records it is becoming increasingly difficult for Americans to counterfeit health coverage documents.

my point was simply that for the most part Canadian foreign policy has matched up with the US's when it comes to these religious extremists, and yet the US gets most of the flack from the extremists because we are a larger target. if you feel that i implied that canada wasnt targeted, then you assumed wrong. i was implying that canada would be targeted much more if the US wasnt such a giant beacon of hatred.

as for the healthcare, both systems have their flaws and challenges, the US burdened more by the larger scale and entrenching of all parties. we wont agree on it because our ideals are too different, so lets agree to dissagree.

most americans illegally use canada's healthcare for prescriptions, not major surgeries. maybe im misinformed. but our healthcare system is also burdened by illegals, and a lot more than canada.

canada actually has an extremely competent military, although it isnt set up to operate on its own really. it relies heavily on allies logistics and support, much like many UN members.

in that regard, no military on the planet really has the logistics support of the US military, it is one of the main things that make it a world wide tool for force projection
