still i'm going to argue that under current rules/formulas, at no point will the top 10 cutoff be 250M, even if everybody tried. case in point: last reset, bakku, eug, and me had countries that would've hit 250M easily this set. but together, we played a big role in crashing the tech market so that none of us would hit 250M. similarly, if everybody tried to farm their way to 60k acres to hit 250M, there wouldn't be enough landfarms and everybody would just be stuck at 40k acres.

you are right that it is impossible for 10 people to reach 250M nw in ONE reset, but you can have 10 different total spread across various resets.

in that case i totally agree with you.

well there's a difference between realizing somebody is inactive well ahead of time and detagging them proactively, and at the last minute going "OH fluff, WE NEED TO DROP MEMBERS"...

granted that wasn't actually what happened with downsay, but that is how it appeared at first heh

yah next time should identify the "inactives" 2 weeks beforehand and then detag them all

and one more thing i don't think anyone said the t10 cutoff can be 250M. that's not possible in this environment.

i just think 200M is plausible as a t10 cutoff.

maybe not this reset, but its highly possible imo

i still think t10 cutoff is 190+ tho for this reset

i can think of 6 LaF and at least 3 evo that will be at 190M+ (and there might be more evo, because evo knows their countries better than i would ;P)

that's already 9. i can easily overlook a 10th (and/or a market buyout from some other alliance might happen)

What type of work are you doing? It's been so long since I've lost spoken to you. Times have sure changed. I'm married, have a daughter, and am in med school. I finish my first year of med school tomorrow to be exact. Last time we truly had time to speak I think I was around 17 years old or so (almost 9 years ago now).

if he was still around, I'd say 200m top 10 cut off is pretty straight on if everyone could net in peace.

200m is a piece of cake, if you focus on netgain. Expecially after earth apply "order" , "recall goods" and "no 2B bug".

God, in 9 years... hmm... got my degree then promptly switched careers. Finally working on a second one now, so I can claim to actual use my degree for work for the first time ever really. Been working as a SysAdmin here in the Charlotte area for about 4 years now. Fallen in and out of love a few times but nothing that serious. No little death gods running around!

i think this reset you will see a 4th (i'm assuming you counted the guy who's already over 250M as one of the three)

i'm not going to hit 250M this reset, but doesn't mean that i'm not capable. i'm to blame here mostly for being super lazy, and maybe your words will encourage me to actually try one of these days =)

i'm sure there are others in the same boat (that they are capable of breaking 250M but haven't gone around to putting in the effort yet). you should know how much effort it takes to make 250M nw since you done it. it requires a lot of work =)

i think what he meant though was there was 10 people capable of doing it, but not all of them want to do it. it's a more pragmatic vs realist approach. only 3 have done it but probably 10 can do it if they actually go for it.

In all likelihood he probably meant "in regards to" instead of p.s. or post scriptum. Although, he may have thought to include what exactly he was talking about after his post which had he mentioned that his post was in regards to the statement would be a proper P.S. statement.

I was pretty darn close with my predictions. :)

Some comments:

(1) LaF slayed it with 6 out of the top 10. Dang!

(2) I was disappointed with Omega's netting performance. I was expecting a lot more out of them (obviously, given that I picked them to come in 2nd in ANW).

(3) *pats self on back for almost nailing it on the head in guessing 119 M ANW for Evo* :P
