I think it could be a really good fight, they'll both weigh in at 265 and Lesnar's not much bigger than Carwin. Carwin's a great striker. I'd guess Carwin by KO in the 1st round again.

Yes, but llaar's war dec didn't make the conditions that led to us talking about disbanding in the first place disappear. It wouldn't be long, probably only a set, until the issue was brought up again.

This is a server wide forum Strife, I'm still posting because I'm interested in how the consequences of my actions are unfolding. And it's not as if I was issuing any kind of mandate, but the way I see it, PDM was on the brink of disbanding whether I took that course of action or not. Why not spend possibly your last set fighting instead of running landfarms for fluffheads.

I never said I was trying to teach LaF a lesson, I said a big part of the reason I chose them was because they were fat with inadequate defense, they were just the best target by far, more land, less losses, less readiness dropped, less oil.

And I never tried to justify my actions, I DID IT BECAUSE I THOUGHT IT WAS FUNNY.

Multiple targets with severely inadequate defense was a large part the reason I chose LaF as my target, I didn't need 20+million jets to do it, and I didn't need PDM's tag protection for the majority of the set in order to get the amount of military I had to do it, I could easily have run untagged and accumulated enough resources to buy just a few million jets and had almost the same effect. I made the decision to suicide on a whim more or less, it wasn't something I planned out, certainly not something I'd been thinking about all set, I intended to fight a long drawn out war with NA, stonewalling, and restarting and having as big an impact on the war as I could until the end of the set. However with the introduction of new alliances to our side NA was quickly destroyed and it seemed that the remainder of the set would be quite boring. So literally overnight I selfishly decided to make it more fun by selfishly waging a one man war with LaF.

It's a testament to both my impatience and lack of planning that I didn't take even more from LaF. I'd FA'd away and lost through breaking most of my stockpile during the war, so I could have been a LOT bigger. I also didn't bother to either store turns to make more hits, or sell off what was left of my stockpile properly (I removed everything from the market and sold on the PM). Had I done this I could conceivably taken the land (more land), jumped, and help it all set. This is actually what I wanted to do but I got carried away and decided I wanted to hit sooner and less effectively rather than later. After the conversion to dictatorship and losing more resources than I anticipated I decided to drop the land to compensate for what I lost in military with regaining my old tech levels. Thankfully LaF allowed me to compensate for my impatience by failing to launch a coordinated attack on me until 5 minutes after I got my remaining 17 million jets back from PS, you can blame PDM for not killing me all you like, but the fact of the matter is they did put a lot of hits in, but I was ready to stonewall the whole 22 hours, and war-ravaged Paradigm simply didn't have enough countries in a position to break me to be able to kill me off in a single coordinated run. LaF did - but they didn't.

I included Goku's country as well simply because it was the largest country in the game, in hindsight maybe I shouldn't have - but I could and I did.

The way I see it there are two reasons for suiciding, firstly, just for fun and general boredom with a more conventional state of play (such as warring or netgaining along clan guidelines), which is why I did it (and while I'm on the subject, it was totally LaF's fault that I hit them I'm perfectly aware of PDM's anti-suiciding stance which is why I made sure noone in the clan knew about it. LaF was my target because I thought their fat, poorly defended countries deserved to be hit for not bothering to defend properly, as well as their [leadership's] having a history of generally being wankers. I also thought it would be funny seeing what a big deal they made of it when they routinely find new players and farm them until they realise it's pointless for them to continue trying to play - which it totally was lol!), and suiciding as a reaction to being screwed over by the target alliance.

Mehul designed this game as an attacking game. Even on the front page of Pang's earthempires, it states:

"Build your country to destroy your opponents in war, or strive to finish the round with the highest networth you can."

So what about the players who want to build their countries for the purpose of destroying their opponents in war?

Sure, the vast majority of players will choose to play in a clan, and play along clan guidelines. Many because they enjoy working together and being directed and trained, but also because it's necessary for their own protection. Obviously this means the majority of these players would be anti-suiciding, as anti-suiciding measures would offer an extra layer of protection to their countries.

However (and after some thought, contrary to the opionion I gave in another thread) it's wrong to make game-altering decisions that cater only to the interests of these players. Especially when the person proposing the changes plays in a clan full of people who all value the non-fighting side of the game above warfare, and who, due to their playstyles and policies probably generate more resentment amongst opposing players than any other clan.

Back to the two types of suiciders, I believe that as much as you may dislike it, both kinds deserve a place in this game.

Regarding people who suicide for fun or because of boredom: in a game based upon the ability to interact through warfare as well as trade and diplomacy, it's wrong to remove the warfare aspect for countries who are considered rogues, and leave it in place for countries who conform to conventional rules regarding attacking other clans. Fair enough if someone attacks a clan from within one tag, the clan that houses them can decide they no longer deserve to be affiliated with the tag, but the conventional playstyle should not be enforced by altering the very mechanics of the game, let people play as they choose!

The second type of suicider is the kind who gets repeatedly raped by larger countries, and naturally, develops a spiteful attitude towards the countries who, day after day, ruin any chance it has at developing. These countries, while many may simply choose to stop playing, have the option of using the warfare component of the game to get their own back on the countries that attack them in the first place. Altering the game mechanics so that larger countries can continue to farm small countries, but small countries - who are being targeted because they're in no position to grow enough to grab their land back - are unable to retaliate in any form, is SO obviously the wrong thing to do.

It's ridiculous to be perfectly cool with being directed to sacrifice your country to politically motivated warfare, but when a person is genuinely aggrieved (please note I'm NOT referring to myself here) by the actions of other players, to turn around and condemn their act of warfare for not being sanctioned by any clan's hierarchy - this is a fighting game, NO country deserved full immunity from attack simply because they're in a clan that likes to netgain and have "worked hard for two months". Every player knows they CAN be attacked, and it's their responsibility to see that their defense is adequate, and if it's breached, to simply get on and deal with it like every other country subject to attack.

Goku was an exception as I stated before, the rest of your countries deliberately skimped on their defense to keep their costs down and raise their stockpiles. There's a clear difference between country's who are worried about being hit and prepare a defense large enough for attacks on them to more trouble than the gains re worth, and country's that take it for granted that they can rely on tag protection to totally neglect any serious defense in an attack-oriented game.

Dude, PDM can't have been at fault it they didn't know it was going to happen. They can be politically responsible, but there's no way the fault can be attributed to them, you can't profile new members in such a way that you'll be able to forsee the potential for spontaneous landgrabbing spree's. It's the individual LaF countries fault far more than Paradigm's for running high land low defense in a game built around attacking one another for land. You can't just have complete faith in tag protection.

Some of those countries were sitting on over 20k acres with less than 1mil total defense. They can't blame anyone but themselves (and maybe myself..) for their lost land.

Mmhmm!

LaF were the obvious choice to hit, full of the most landfat countries on the server, and most of them INCREDIBLY poorly defended. I've never been too fond of LaF, and their tag protection's amazing, but it can be frustrating worrying about topfeeds all set and seeing them roll around with huge amounts of land and ludicrously little defense. Grabbing them was lulzy!

They were all legit grabs as far as I'm concerned too. We're not pacted, and you can't really complain about the amount of times I hit you, whenever you guys find a good target you farm the living fluff out of it (as is necessary, I don't want to sound hypocritical), but all I did was find the 3 best targets in the game and do the same, you're really in no position to whinge and moan about being midfed (I'm more directing that at the first two I hit, #51 had some nice defense! But nicer land..).

TGD if the clans in a position where it has to bend over and do as LaF says then maybe it is time for Paradigm to disband. If this happened a while ago PDM would have told LaF to get fluffed at the risk of maybe fighting a single relatively even (and fun) war. If you're worried that refusing to pay for something that clearly wasn't your fault will result in being bullied by a larger clan, then you should just bow out of the game gracefully, I'd suggest merging to form a new stronger alliance.

Anyway, adios a mis amigos de Paradigm!

To a sensible person my actions don't reflect at all on PDM. Every alliance has members that go rogue and do their own thing, it doesn't suddenly turn it into the policy of the whole alliance.

Although you guys should totally rape LaF for their land and stocks now that the war's pretty much over :)

And I didn't say tag kills don't happen, I said they rarely happen. And in this case I don't think it will happen, for reasons stated above.

And you should get used to topfeeding, it's easily the best way, and for many players who don't have the time to wait for BF targets, the only way to landgrab these days.

I'm not a douche, I just have a problem with Forgotten and yourself, not the AT community as a whole. I said that your demanding PDM declare war or face a suicider was dumb - it was.

And I've read enough of Forgotten's posts with reference to Earth's past to know that he hasn't been around as long as I have(and what the fluff does PDM vs LaF have to do with experience? There are still a number of former PoWers playing with PDM), but that's beside the point. Which is that all I really see him do on AT is criticise other alliances for stupid reasons.

You claim not to care about the current state of the game but still pose as a political observer, like I was saying in your other thread, people who've made these stupid whatever-watcher alias's in the past have at least seemed to have a good idea what's going on in the game. You only use it to troll with anonymity, and then you call US cowards for not fighting back while we store turns. How can you possibly get a kick out of commenting on a dying game, whilst not being directly involved in any alliance or having any real clue about the state of the game?

Forgotten, I've only been playing again for a short time but from what I've gathered on AT you're not a very experienced player, and all you seem to do is troll here, and you always give the impression that you're just an idiot when you do. You have no good reason to be critical of other clans.

Tagkills rarely happen, NA is not a warring alliance, and both sides have huge stocks, despite the imbalance of numbers I can almost guarantee a tag kill will be impossible.

The point being made was that your're keeping your Earth identity anonymous, you either know this was what they were getting at or you're completely retarded.

Skythe's name is Ryan, but all you need to know is that he plays in PDM, where as you have created an alias so that you don't give away your clan affiliation.

Also, you're a fail xxxx-watcher, at least historically some of these dudes used to actually pay attention and hand out some interesting pieces of information. You're just a fail troll, stfu and gtfo.
