Zen,

I've got a 6 year old son now. Married 12 years (yes i cannot believe she puts up with me either)

still a financial advisor working independently.

still a sucker for the occasional online game. After Earth2025 spent 6 years playing WOW then the last 6 years playing a game called Soldiers Inc. Bluedawg from earth2025 also landed in that game.

When i started in earth2025 in 1997 life looked a lot different.

really nice hearing from each of you.

but no way in heck i'm starting a country up!

was reminiscing a little tonight about a game that dominated my life for a few years called Earth2025 and thought i would check in. I just read a few forum posts and amazing to familiar names like bigdogcwg, cerberus, ruthie, et al. also LCN, SOL, Monsters still kicking.

some great, some not so great, memories of the time spent with all of you. I wish you all the best regardless of how much we may have fought in the past.

stay safe out there.

wishing all you old friends and foes the very best. Thank you for continuing this game that began over 20 years ago and monopolized nearly a decade of my life.

Should auld acquaintance be forgot,

We'll take a cup o' kindness yet,
For auld lang syne.

it was cheaper than rebuilding :)

negative cash flow countries suck for extended wars. i've always believed if you can rebuild a parking lot and take cash flow away from an enemy that's better than cutting your losses and dropping acres to be micro country who can only hit bottom targets.

if you all would leave me alone for about 12 more hours i'll be happy to rejoin the fight :)

dammit you interrupted my lunch! i'm too old for this #$%#

man i'm seriously out of practice, i got used as the random missle dump for readiness targets. you know how humiliating it is to be a friggin missile dump??? uncool, way uncool you totally wrecked my street cred.

oh #720 sorry i had to borrow some land and buildings back as i was a wee short of both when i logged in. we can work out reps later :)

the thing that makes me chuckle the most is i post as a means of self-deprecating humor because i had a brief moment of insanity and thought AT would be fun to talk about my history of overreactions and Galleri him/her/it? has a histrionic, complete flameon worse than what i did to the offending country.

and this is the person that is a game moderator? really?

disclaimer 1: I DONT SPEAK FOR NM. Hell i think i might have broken about 119 rules just even getting on AT trying to be funny and i half expect to be detagged for calling Galleri an ignoramous.

disclaimer 2: (NOTE I NEVER EVEN SAID MY COUNTRY, MY ALIANCE OR THE OFFENDING ALLIANCE)

disclaimer 3: hell honestly this has gone about 5 minutes past me giving a flying flip. I'm probably heading back to retirement after this anyway so who cares

disclaimer 4: i managed to post 3 times without at least one attempt at number crunching - a new record

disclaimer 5: now i'm just writing nonsense because i'm trying to stir up interest in this thread because it's so damn ridiculous that this has turned into an issue

dude people need to just chill the F out.

i was making a funny post becaues i got my ass chewed for flaming a guy who pissed me off. I didnt talk to my leadership i didnt talk to their leadership i dont have any authority to do jack crap.

i got yelled at by pretty much everyone for fluffing at the guy who hit the piss out of me.

so now of course it's a big f-ing deal so that the leader of imag has to come with secret logs showing basically that i told the dude to f-off like i already admitted.

see this is exactly why i quit the game, why i dont post and why i dont do #$%# other than hit a cash button for 1 minute a day.

i never mentioned a country i never mentinoed an alliance, i never mentioned that anyone ever did anything wrong.

well now except me thinking galleri - whoever the hell they are is a complete assmunch

i was wavering on whether to keep wasting my 1 minute a day on this game.

thanks for helping push me back into retirement Galleri! it's not a kindlier, gentler earth2025. it's as stupid, inane, and reactionary as always. good to know

i did my retals in the approved fashion by my alliance (i'll never use the term clan EVER), got close to even and moved on.

however my vent got me in a teeny tiny but of hot water :)

so in the past i might have garnered a reputation as weeeeee bit of a hothead at times. completely undeserved of course!!

so evidentally telling a country that felt like making a large grab on my boring little all explore rep to in essence "F off because i'd much prefer to suicide on you you than take a retal you little punk" is frowned on by the current standards of the game and considered a little overboard.

so what you think was that righteous indignation and a proper ingame response or was I a smidge out of line and the old Great Satan rearing his ugly head?

notice about 90% of those posting were here from the 90's?

remind me again how you all suckered me back into this place?

though have to admit it's way different now without ICQ, IRC, midnight phone calls, skipping work to run a warchat...

nice to spend (and i've timed it) an average of 1 and half minutes a day pressing some combination of explore, build, cash and buy/sell goods/tech every day

is this what normal people have always done in earth2025?

my stuff was cutting edge for the 90's!

i didnt have too much time on my hands. However i could accurate state i wasted way too much of the time i did have on this game at the expense of other items that actually paid the bills...

i wonder if any of those old strats are still viable?

i believe my thinking at the time of collecting this was to ensure that i wasn't the only adult doing this. i occassionally questioned the sanity of a grown up with a job spending 2-5 hours a day on a text based game.

evidence mounted that it was indeed mass insanity

i thought you were talking about the alliance.

when i took over the ICN and SOL had already decided to spin off from the UCN

i worked on keeping the avengers as the terran council but they decided to go out on their own also.

protecting them got me in my first war and started the real disconnect between sol and ucn

maybe i'll add UCN to the country name next set.

Everyone wish Les a happy birthday. The game would not be what it was without his leadership in Sol and the political accumen he brought to the game.

He was a worthy friend and adversary in the game and a good friend out of the game for me.

Only fitting that Sol did a reunion tour at this time.

i still have the fbi file somewhere from when ronnie hacked my computer. i remember i called his boss as did the fbi about it, pretty sure he was terminated for it.

bots is one thing, breaking into my computer computer was well over the line.

if not for him i might not have given up on this game

wouldn't it be the ultimate twist to find that i was really a Mr all this time and that i engineered the bots that destroyed ucn due to a sense of jealousy of croakers popularity thereby mytholizing my name so that earth2025 will never forget me?

wow, i almost got myself to believe that if it wasnt for the fact i cannot program my way out of a paperbag. my programming skills ended at:
10 cls
20 print "grant"
30 goto 10

i appreciate the offers guys, it is nice to be wanted but until i show up to play more than once every 3 days it doesnt make sense to have my dead weight anywhere. in monsters i post once a month and i think i'm in the top 3 most active players so no pressure on me!

lol i found a copy of one of our recruiting messages we used on 5/19/2000 to game countries

The United Councils of Nations has about 250 members if you include our Bootcamp. We have been in existence for nearly 3 years now. Fingolfin is our president and has led for a full year. The UCN typically finishes each reset as one of the top 3 ranked allainces in membership and total networth

We use two different sites. The EZCLAN site is our home and the gamerstowndatabase gives us a technological advantage over most alliances.

What do we offer new members?
1. A very intense bootcamp. When a member joins the UCN we assign you to a mentor who for two weeks teaches you strategy, site usage, our foreign relations, our landgrab policy, and many other items.

2. A tag that prevents a large percentage of landgrabs. the UCN is known far and wide and a strong alliance to deter grabbers.

3. A fun experience. We have an area of our site devoted to member biographies and pictures. Over 75% of the alliance has posted a biography. What a great way to get to know people with similar interests.

4. Regular chats. We use an IRC client to host regular chats about earth2025 or just fun talk.

There are many other reasons to join as well but this ought to get you headed in the right direction.

If you are interested in giving us a try out please go to ucn.e2hq.com and apply. Use my name as a reference.

Hope to see you soon.

that's not true at all. in UCN we never hit tagless or small clans more than twice per country. everyone was instructed to politely say sorry for the land grab, if you'd care to join a stronger alliance that can protect you and help you learn the game please consider joining UCN. you can apply at ucn.ezclan.com, though i think our earliest version was e2hq.com/ucn

we had landgrabs in the good old days but the only reason i agreed to play this set was that could sit and hit the cash/explore button for my 5 mintues a day and say hello to people that i remember

i had the most turrets in the alliance i believe at the time.

love the people in this game, always hated when some dummy hits out of the blue and you cannot get your land back. if all explore would have worked way back when i would have tried to do that in ucn

see what happens when you let me in your alliance, grabs against the tag increase exponentially.

take a guess who has been getting hit the most in monsters?

at least this has helped insure that this will be a one reset only return. thank you so much for helping me come to my senses and realize this is an asinine waste of my time.
