Last time I was allowed to post, SOF had still not won a single war without being propped up by RD, IX or LAF (all of the above riddled with cheats and bots). The fact they're still around is amazing, and a testament to the fact that some people just aren't fazed bathing in a tub of faeces.

Did I say SOF cheated? That is up for interpretation.

SoF don't directly cheat. They let other alliances do it for them.

They were the last alliance to support Elitez and did so for a long time, accepting FA from them to win wars right up until Anthony Ciolli produced definitive evidence of cheating. There are logs of Helmet practically begging startiger for FA in a war against SOL complete with country-to-country to match ups done by his own hand.

Then, we have the LAF debacle. Their rise was directly attributed to the worst individual cheating seen in EE's history yet SOF continued to leech off their power.

SOF is (and by extension Helmet who made most of the decisions to support questionable alliances) the biggest contradiction in ever play the game. Helmet calls other people whiners and sore losers yet is the first to actually take an alliance an leave the game in a hissy fit. Is the first to come and whinge about cheating yet the alliance he has led has always pandered to alliances that are powerful and if they cheat, oh well 'we didnt do it'.

Shameful.

'Darakna'.. About option 2. Yes, SOF could fight LAF but that would mean actually taking on the server's other large alliance and that is something SOF has avoided since it's early existence.

SOF will leech from other alliances to get 'near' the top, but by their very model of beating up alliances low on morale or members to pad their stats, means they spend very very little time as the top alliance in this game.

I would much prefer to be in an alliance that spends one year out of every three as the best, instead of a spineless 'somewhere near the top' alliance that is always willing to bend over and cop it to maintain that status.

SOF are strong due to leeching off LAF for two years. LAF whose main rise was during the leadership of a database and game hacker. A leader who set records in networth and underhanded tactics only to have his countries deleted. SOF manufactures a 1 on 1 war against an alliance who has taken more defends in more uneven contests than any other alliance in the existence of the game and beats their chest like they're Muhammad Ali.

The new changes are a fluff bandaid fix that tries to be too clever by coming up with their 'own solution' rather than listen to actual changes that are logical and target the problem.

Making kills runs longer is good, but doing this by increasing the number of turns required to kill a country is stupidity. They are not mutually exlusive.

Let's see if SOF can avoid the temptation of getting external FA up the wazoo like every other war in their history.

qz, I think you're great, and most changes in the game are great.

What I see though is a propensity to do something not exactly required because it's a bit fancy or might be cool to tinker with/code.

Make stonewalling harder? Target the problem - stop allowing the spamming of hits via the OP Ajax attack button. That is an easy way to lengthen the time taken to kill a country without increasing the turns required to do so.

Stop dumb war dynamics? Promote even wars by coding alliance level war decs into the game. Do not allow alliances to hit each other until a reasonable amount of time has passed in the reset. Reduce the power of first strikes by giving restarts even bigger bonuses (this will also make tagkills* harder to achieve - instead of 24/48 hours).

The game is broken but not in the areas that seem to get the fixes.

* by tagkill I mean the common scenario where 99% of an alliance's networth is destroyed in a short period. By giving restarts say a 25% of everything the had before bonus (tech, military, cash, bushels, oil) - the most damage you can do in a devastating first strike is 75%. Still powerful but at least it gives the recipient alliance some chance to get back on their feet quickly (especially if they stocked well and played a good country, which the game should reward)

LAF have won one (1/uno) total networth title in 26 months (13 resets). The one victory they had was when they blindsided MD and then farmed them in April. Every time they haven't worked behind the scenes and taken out their competition they lose. See: multiple times they have come second.

Since SOF was embarrassed in the ECM war (18 months ago?) - they have fought and won one (1/uno) war that could even remotely be called a test (and it wasnt a test) versus PDM. They blindsided a netgaining Evo and got their asses kicked. They have had more than 3 opportunities I can think of off the top of my head to keep a war even and 'assert their superiority' but opted to fluff out every time.

Yet you still think yourself so self important as to keep trotting out ridiculous rankings that have no basis in reality, no discernible measurement system apart from the system where you determine how far up the collective assholes of SOF and LAF you can penetrate your nose.

Incorrect, despite the colourful language I stick to facts and actual real world happenings. If you look closely around here, it is the guilty parties that tend to distort and subtract from reality.

Like it or not, this game is hugely flawed. A game that is meant to be played over two months can be destroyed in 24 hours by any group morally willing enough to band together and gangbang or outnumber an opponent for a cheap victory. This game relies on group consensus to do the decent thing. It relies on the playing group to keep things in order. When you have rogue elements like SOF and LAf who are so self centered and driven by self interests - this game is fluffed.
