Such a setup would be biased to those that are able to be on their countries multiple times per day. I think keeping the same bonus timing, eliminating the permanent bonuses (except maybe free GDI), and sticking with turns and boom events gives the best balance.

If you're a CI grabbing somebody, and you don't want to be hit back, then grab a little techer or casher that can't hit you back without blowing stock. If it's another CI, about your size and for whom the only effort involves changing production rates, then there's a solid chance you can get hit back.

Looking over the news for Troll, it doesn't look like they hit anybody without being hit first all week. Some suicider!

I know, keeping track really isn't that hard, this would be more of a convenience feature (especially when playing from a mobile device). Early in the set when about to batch explore, it would be helpful to see your total acres on the explore screen so you don't need to keep flipping over to another screen to check when to stop. Later in the set if you're still exploring, it'd be helpful to see empty acres, as in whether you have a full BPT of land free, again without flipping to another page.

Warring is already a means to potentially increasing NW, while at the same time consuming NW. There's that dichotomy again.

NW is the objective measure of a country, and has been since the beginning. What dagga suggests is akin to learning basketball, playing basketball for a long time, and then complaining because you'd rather win a basketball game by kicking a ball in a net.

Also, "biased" is not typically defined as "disagreeing with dagga" 8)

Yes, but is that sustainable in an FS? What stops an alliance from alerting vulnerable people before they're hit once an FS starts?

A blindside will always be just that, and can never be coded out of the game. But don't take the element of preparation and coordination completely out of the game by nerfing attacks. Active defense is a meaningful way for an alliance to distinguish themselves, and that shouldn't be taken away.

A country can't die in 7 seconds unless it is completely unprepared for war. Pacting, political maneuvering, preparation, and alertness (clan X stopped retalling, are they saving turns?) can each prevent 7 second kills from happening.

I have no idea what to make of that post. Do warstats not exist? Are they somehow not relevant since they aren't implemented to your liking in-game?

Netting and warring have always balanced each other. If all you do is war, people won't be very good at netting, which ultimately hurts your ability to war. If all you do is net, people won't be very good at warring, which ultimately hurts your ability to net.

If you don't understand this dichotomy, maybe you should try a different game, since it's been at work here since the beginning. What you're proposing is changing the game entirely to suit your individual vision.
