When I came back to SOL 2 resets ago I sent a private message to SOV and he never replied. Being out of the game for quite sometime I wanted to get to know the new leaders. The only message I saw from SoF was a war.

I can honestly say I have not been kept in the loop as far as what top leadership in SOL is doing and I am not in FA at all. I was told we were netting. Anyone that knows me knows that I am not a netter. Yet, this reset, I have been in the top 14 until the war and had dropped to rank 26. Am I a competent netgainer... absolutely not but it was interesting to try.

In regards to some questions from Galleri and others saying we were not netting... I am an ADL of one of the divisions in SOL and I also work with the new members. Even though I was told we were netting, I am not stupid. I did the best I could to netgain yet I also made dang sure that my Division in SOL were ready for what I ultimately expected... SoF to hit us.

The main point that I am making is that you need a bipartisan approach to things and getting 60 votes to prevent or shut down a filibuster makes you work together which in return gives you better qualified people. By changing the rules, you only need to hold a 1 vote majority. This will as I said cause more division. It would probably be less of an issue if those that are in the majority didn't yell and complain when they weren't. Even though it was never used, they felt it was a real threat to the nation. Now that they are in power, they go ahead and do it.

Cudos to the Democrats. Now when they lose the Senate and the republicans make their nominations I hope they all keep their mouths shut about how terrible it is. I am a firm believer in what comes around goes around. I play fair and find that I can get a consensus when dealing with issues... and when that is done, both sides are happy or unhappy equally! What the Democrats did is blatantly arrogant just like they passed Obamacare with no input from the Republicans... as they said... We won... we don't need you. Look what that got us!

A simple majority to fill a life time appointment of a Judge is ridiculous. That is why they had 60 votes needed for a confirmation to go through. Left, Right or Middle... it is in all of your best interests to take some time and come to a bipartisan concensus (which having 60 votes does) when making life time appointments.

Secondly, we are not a democracy so simple majority is not how this country runs. We are a republic which means each state has representatives and senators that are suppose to do what is in the best interest of those people that they represent.

This was a bad move as it will now create a very antagonistic court system. Liberal judges will be appointed and when the Republicans take back the senate Conservative judges will be appointed. You really think this is what is best for the US? I for one think the 60 vote bipartisan vote is what is needed to avoid more hostilities between parties.

I think "retaliate" was the wrong word to be used here. But Angel1 is correct. Power in the Senate will shift and the rule that the Democrats just pushed through will have them crying about how unfair it is... just like they did when the Republicans had the Senate and talked about using the nuclear option. Funny if you listen to Biden, Obama, Shumar, Kerry and several others back then compared to what they said today... it shows what hypocrites those in power actually are.

Just wondering why people keep talking about the "Gangbang" last reset of "SEM" hitting SoF with a 30 member advantage. No one seems to have a problem with SoF hitting MD with a 30 member advantage? I guess it is okay for SoF to do it but not for anyone else to do it to them...

It does nothing to stop those people who have no insurance from going to the emergency room and getting care. Obama care made a big point of "illegals" won't be allowed to purchase insurance through Obama care... yet, if they go to the emergency room they will be covered just like they are now. There will still be 30M people uninsured in America. If you chose not to get the insurance and pay the $95 fine but end up in a car accident, you can sign up at the hospital and be covered. No pre existing conditions... this is nothing more than government stepping in where they are not needed or wanted so that they can gain more power by creating more dependency on government.

I clearly stated SoF/Allies.

I think everyone on the server knew as soon as we hit SoF then Rival would hit us. The total numbers are based on using our allies that are involved and would have been involved.

Interesting rankings Servant. Last reset I think SoF would have been ranked higher than SOL, this reset I believe it is a toss up as to which one should be ranked above the other.

As far as the FA issue and the constant complaining of SoF being outnumbered keep in mind two facts...

1) SOL & Allies hit out of protection. All of SoF had not tagged up yet. Based on the numbers last reset this should have been about 110 verses 110 +/- a couple.

2) When SoF had all their countries tagged up the count has been pretty steady and as of today it is SOL & Allies 113 countries and SoF/Rival at 111 countries.

This was an even war once the 20 non tagged SoF countries were added in. The LaF situation created a reversal of who was on top. I have never been one to want FA in a war, but I think SOL would be stupid not to get FA when pacts have been seen going the other way and the FS on EVO (88 vs 22) unbalanced the whole thought of it being a fair war.

So, I think at this point everyone should simply stop the accusations and get back on the battle field and play the game. We still have 30 some days left. At this point, I do not know who will win or if there will be a winner. Both sides are getting smacked around and neither side seems to be giving up.

I applaud the stamina of all players involved. I do not think it helps either side to complain or argue so lets continue the fight and hopefully it won't have to be a repeat next reset...

I guess you can blame me for the PG-13 Family oriented Alliance concept. I never booted anyone for swearing or being inappropriate I simply contacted them and reminded them that we did have kids in our alliance playing along side their parents and we needed to show respect. If they continued... yes, they got booted. Chat rooms with the auto booting system was never something I hung out in!

I am not sure I would be one you would consider not trustworthy as I very seldom get to the point where I need to use swear words.

My concern is more about when changes are made, think before doing so.

One change that I see is the restarting a country that is better than a new country but worse than it was when it was killed. I think restarting fresh made things a lot more clear during a war. Now it seems that maiming and preventing a kill is more important than actually killing countries. I may be old school, but geez... its a game. I just want to kill things!

Keep one thing in mind... and I have seen this over and over again through my many years of game playing...

When you have a game people enjoy and then you start changing it because a minority of players start complaining you have begun ruining the game for the majority of players.

I am not sure the above comment is accurate in regards to the FS, but there have been many changes made since I last played the game. Some of those changes might be ruining the game. Things get changed, consequences don't get thought about until well after the change has been made. Then you start trying to fix the fix... which ends up destroying the game itself.

My main concern is that if you do make changes, think about the consequences first before implementing!

If you read my initial question it was simply asking if it was possible and if so, how could it be detected and what could be done about it. I stated I am not computer savy so was asking if it was possible. I admit that I am totally surprised at the response time people have and never having a smart phone did not realize just how smart they were!

I now know the value of smart phones! So to be quite honest with you, I did not mean to come across that anyone was using them, my question was is it possible that it could be happening. Remember, when I played, it was common practice for certain alliances to run multiple countries and run bots to kill countries. So, from my past experience and being told that security is much better now and people can't run multiple countries, I wanted to ask if there was the technology to use login bots and if so, I hoped that the practice could be stopped.

Sorry if I hit a nerve with you locket. I know I am not tech savy... so I asked. It is amazing to me that time after time people can react within 25 seconds to 45 seconds. If it was once or twice I could understand that but since it was more I was trying to come up with a reason.

From the responses, all have been pleasant and explaining about smartphones and then some info on a walling script that someone has seen in IRC. I did not realize that smart phones are so smart!

Can I ask you a question? If everyone else is taking this as questions that are being asked and replying with informative answers, why is it you have taken such a personal response to it?

I didn't get mad at someone asking if SOL was using bots, I simply said I wouldn't respond to such a stupid accusation.

Darrian, it is me... the real deal!

Has anyone looked into the concept of login bots and how to prevent that from happening? I have been back a short time but even after my lenghty absence I am smart enough to know that during war 95% of countries can't log in within 25-45 seconds at any time of the day.
Just curios if anyone has given this any thought and what can be done to prevent it? I am not a computer guy so not even sure it is something that can be done. I remember leaving the game with people using bots to generate and run countries so am just curious if a login bot is something that could be made and if so, how can you detect it and what are you willing to do about it once detected.

Helmet: I don't think we ever saw eye to eye... lol... yet he too was very dedicated. Anyone willing to put in the hours into an alliance always has my respect.

Gramberto: Simply because he was amusing and easily pissed me off. Not something that usually happens!

There are plenty of others that I dealt with and respected also, Lady Grizz, Patience, Sunshine and Ruthless and others.

Can't say much about the new leaders of the alliances as I have not dealt with them having just came back to earth. Never thought about how long I had been gone, but the message ingame I received asking me if I was the same NorCal from 15 years ago... gave me a little bit of a shock... was it really that long!
