If you're going to be an indy, you should build only industrial complexes and construction sites. You should have at least 140 construction sites, and as many as 300 or so depending on how big you plan to grow. You should not have any other buildings aside from industrial complexes. You should be buying your food, oil, and technology off the public market, and you should be selling military on the market to get the cash needed to buy all these goods. Pretty soon you should have enough military that your net income will be negative, but this is okay because your military sales will get you plenty of cash.
