Galandy: ya, shaw is the only cable in alberta; if your mom is using rogers, she's doing it via mobile, because the only DSL is Telus; rogers does have some "air stick" which is basically a cell phone data plan that you can plug your computer in, for people way out in the middle of nowhere...

wireless fios makes no sense; fios == fibre; wireless == wireless; the two can't meet!

I want fios! but increased shaw speeds are a good start...


And also, fios isn't obsolete.. it isn't even rolled out to 99% of people in North America... fiber optic can scale to 1Gbps relatively easily, so you can't possibly say that is obsolete...

unless you have an OC48 or something like that... (backbone level speed...)
