It goes both ways. If you're going to attempt to farm someone over their retal, you have to be able to defend yourself well or your own finish is going to go up in smoke. It may be a situation of mutually assured destruction, and if it is, by breaking GDI you are the one pulling that trigger. Are you pulling it out of principle? How bad does the jet:turret ratio have to be, or how poorly does your own set have to be going, for you to make that decision? I guess we all have our lines but "jetter" is a pretty broad one.
