Red Sox fans should be able to appreciate this milestone. If they don't, then they aren't true baseball fans. They just say they are so they can fit in.

Also, the homerun was impressive, but what I thought was outstanding was he went 5 - 5 AND hit in the go ahead run. It was an amazing day for any MLB hitter. 3,000th hit just makes that day immortal.

PS. David Robertson is an All-Star - that is great news and well deserved. Good to see the ASG is not a complete popularity contest. (Jeter probably should not be in there, but hey..)

It's not. To be perfectly honest, I moved it to General Talk in hopes that more sports-oriented folks would see it and want to respond because I think it's a milestone with discussing further with other baseball fans.
