you are a gun man,i have a question for ya would you know the value of a winchester model 59 22 single shot ? the one i am looking at has a slight bulge in the barrel you can hardly see it but can feel it. It shoots ok and is accurate to 30 yards or so. I am finding a wide range of values i want to be fair on the price to this guy but not sure how much the bulge will knock off.

U know the range in value. Let the buyer figure out what he wants to pay and take it from there. Sounds like a total pile of fluff.

I am the buyer. I buying it from an older fellow don't want to pay more than it is worth but do not want to screw him either, don't think he has a clue it might be worth more than most old winchester 22s

Not like ford is a weapons expert or anything, I would regard him as an enthusiast. I don't know why you would waste your time with a little 22 single shot anyways. You going for a thin shot and precise aim? Squirrel hunting?
Do as I say, not as I do.

Prolly gonna saw if off and shove it down his britches for a daily carry.

There is no holy grail .22 single shot.

Next thread should ask the value of a 2007 civic with a slight dent going down the side.

If it has physical condition issues, especially in the barrel or action, let him keep it and look at other options at gunbroker.com

A slight bulge in the barrel is not good. It means he fired a squib and stacked who knows how many bullets in the barrel and damaged it. Makes it worth about 75 bucks tops>

Sorry, RL has been a kick in the nuts recently.

I don't know wtf the previous owner had to do to a .22 barrel to buldge it, but it isnt good. I would hard pass unless it was almost scrap value.

Not sure why you want a bolt action .22 but the only .22s I own are a 10/22 and SR22. Ruger hasnt done me wrong and they are fun at the range. I suppose when my son gets a few years older I might want a bolt. Who knows.

HMR .17 is my new favorite light caliber.

I also own a 10.22 SR22 as ford just said it is a great tool. If it has a buldge, I would pass regardless of the price.

Eventually it will get worse.
