My techer got beat up bad while warring. AB tore me up something fierce. But even after rebuilding what acres I had left, I'm not teching anything near what I was before with this many acres. What I mean is, after the war I ended up with just under 7k acres, rebuilt my labs and I'm only teching about 380 a turn. Before the war when I had 7 acres I think I was teching something closer to 1.5k

Your production (tech rate) is tied to your(current pop) / (max pop) ratio. Max pop is determined primarily by acres, tax rate, and res tech. If you have the same amount of labs to land as before, that is the only reason I can think why your tech pionts per turns would be reduced.

Set your tax rate to 70%, that will put you closer to your max pop and give you great revenue while you recover. As pop gains rise you can put the tax rate back down for efficiency.

That works when your pop is really low. As your pop recovers, lowertax rate to zero to maximize pop gain. When you get to 7 to civs per acre, restore your normal tax rate, unless you have a high res tech, then probably 10 civs per acre.

Just a rough guide, all countries are different.

population has a direct tie to your productivity...

some times you can whip your tax to max so that you "lose" population and your production flys back up.

then once you stop gaining people.. lower your tax rate... rinse and repeat.
