This was the cheapest tech set ever, $1 off the highest food price ever, and pretty cheap military too, so things kind of lined up. Still, that's a really high score.

things didn't line up blid. they did for all x, but the cost to run a nice grabbing country was much higher this set due to absurd oil prices.

i made 55 grabs, succeeded on all 55 (boss status) and it literally killed my country.
would have been better to go all x and get that cheap tech early on like you had.

also i'm most certain there was some sort of market manipulation in play this set. crazy price swing and change in buying volume, much much different than other sets.

I had to do a 4b destock using half the public market xD.

I decided I didn't need the rest of my turns and started sniping the goods on the market so i'd get stuff cheap (like <$240 per nw)

I scouted out the rest of the farmers too. The topfeeder didnt have a chance. Croatia was freaking HUGE cept playing a Dict with more land seems to netgain less than a full teched out Demo.

Heh no, grabbing is still better than exploring if you can do it clean. I mean look at #53 and #55, they did better than my all-explore. Oil price was only $200 avg, not exactly absurd

TDA could've finished even higher if he didn't get sniped by Ebert for 756 land. I always make it a point to retal people who make hits like that even if it's not worthwhile to try to dissuade them from doing it in the future.

He barely got the break off too. I had 2 D allies and he had 2 pending O allies and 1 ally who gave him barely enough O to break me. 350k!

O allies are kinda ass in this game cuz when u PS you don't give any benefit to O allies.

Also I change my name every set cuz its fun, there are benefits and downsides. Having the same name and allies removes some of the challenge for me. If I did do the same name I'd just run a 4 man tech party. Srsly. For people who don't change their name I know not to spy/attack.
