The only option other than self-farming is running All-ex countries. Anything else makes you a bottom feeder like in Alliance or gets your clan's ass in a war.

If you're self-farming as a strat, it's a lot of work to do it correctly unless you're not looking to put up a decent NW with your entire string.

I don't think it's symbolic of any trend of a self-farming love fest as Rocker said. There have been multiple sets where virtually everyone has warred. It was bound to happen where everyone was going to netgain. Especially if the war clans were going to show any level of respect for the netting clans (which, for the most part, I feel they do).

NBK and CC are the only two major warring clans. They can either war each other, which would get boring pretty quickly (look at the first few sets with NBK v. AoDT), or they can fight netting clans that don't really want to fight (see NBK vs. PAN 3 different times).

Unless we have some 50% increase in clans/people, there are just going to be certain sets that either turn into a total netting fest or a total warring fest.
