Good, ACTIVE leaders.

A few "big name" leaders who have connections to old players, plus old email lists to recruit from.

All it really takes.

If you have an active alliance in this game, you had the same alliance in the old game.

The only effort you really need is to pact LaF+SoF+Rival+etc. After that, you're pretty much golden.

No alliance can grow and remain together without friendship and loyalties. Any alliance that has crumbled has done so because of lack of friendship and trust. Good leaders can only do so much.

1. To make a new alliance? That's the easy part. To SUSTAIN it as you asked? Retalling capability is what sustains it. You need retallers. If your alliance is too small, and gets farmed 10x a day and you can only retal 5 of them everyday, that doesn't count as having retalling capability.

2. How much effort? Be prepared to spend about 6-12 hours everyday on your alliance, be it talking to other alliances about retals, trying to feel what other alliances might be planning, reading your own forums, this forum, etc. And then your own country and managing your internal affairs.

3. Member Loyalty.

You dont have to even play the game to keep an alliance going. Rage lasted as long as it did off of friendship.
