I was about 3-4 days ahead of all the CIs at one point. So I was wondering where did all the lead go...but I think I may have figured it out.
I invested in the wrong bonus (indy boom) for the first 3 weeks of the game. I estimated we took about $10-14b to cash out so that was $1b I lost out on since I remembered I was 10% expense bonus behind the CIs who started investing in it since day 1. That is about 1 day's worth of turns.
Secondly, because I had a lead over the rest, I bought most of my tech when they were $1500-1600. I remember I even bought $1700-1800 tech at one point. So if you bought your tech at $1200-1300 average, that's a difference of 15-20% of cash spent on tech. For the 2.5M tech bought, that's a difference of about $600M as well (assuming my tech average cost is 1650 and if you buy 4-5 days later, it was average 1400). That's half day's worth of turns.
Thirdly, we were both hit by the same guy at the end for 3k acres but I was hit 48 hours before you. I had max turns when he did, which meant I lost total 5M nw including military losses to him. Assuming you did have max turns 48 hours later when he hit you, you were producing 18k nw more than me every turn for about 100 more turns, which adds up to about 2M nw difference.
Forth, I think I made a mistake of stopping to get land after I was topfed once. I stopped at 50k, while you managed to get back up to 54k. That's about 500k nw you make more than me everyday for the last 2 weeks of the set, since you did stop grabbing 2 weeks before the end.
And last but not least, I think I'm just not as good as you in CI yet =P That probably costs me 1-2 days haha.
