The sheer speed of the attacks has made stonewalling *much* harder, which will change strategies and defenses. This impact is magnified when you have a large number of players online at the same time (such as during an initial FS).

Well i think it levels the playing field between people who were using submit-to-tab and people who were using opera or something to do fancy hitting... and everybody else...

levelling playing fields is usually good..

As alex said, the speed of the hits were frightening. The question is, do we want the hits to come in like this? Is this the type of gameplay that players want?

The last time I saw kills this fast were with IX during the big block wars...

I don't know if I like it better or not -- want to see how it plays out for a while first. But I can say that this relatively small change may end up shifting strategies significantly. The ability to attack in "super-rush" mode will make the FS very important. It might, for example, lead to smaller clans being able to successfully challenge larger ones if they take proper advantage of a sneak FS attack. We'll have to see to know for sure.

I was online today when SOL did their FS against ICN/LCN. Watching country after country disappear in less than 30 seconds was weird.

Not too different from a large group KR before the new features when people were dead in 50 seconds. The only difference is there it relied on a few with the know how and now everyone can do it.

This will be an advantage for SOL, as we all know when to get on... having 10-12 people on at the same time... well you can see how it'd go down..

30 second kills are certainly not new to this new attack setup.

45 second kills on higher break countries is not new either.

its just alot easier for people who didnt have that special touch before.

I like it only because it doesn't lag :D as much. Thank you for the work.

I like how it updates your food etc stuff as well. Quite useful.

Pain is correct, attacking fast is not new. I always used IE, so I suppose people with fancy opera stuff had some sort of advantage.
Not posting on AT as much because Maki/Steeps gave back some of my forums on GHQ. RIP my decade long blog, my blog even had replies from people who are no longer with us :(.

i think it is wicked awesome.

a true player would look at trying to wall that many hit at once as an expert challenge. and already we have seen a few people that did not coordinate properly and give a waller a chance.

i think any new toy in-game is a good one if it shakes up the game a bit.

this kind of ruins the chance of someone walling whatsoever, Remnant of Society (#268) (ICNxGARY) got killed in 22 seconds that's not even enough time to do one of those ridiculous sanskrit capchas

seriously some of those have characters that aren't even on my keyboard

If you experienced the frustration with the lag last reset you would understand how this is much better. It's hard as hell to stonewall, but they didn't even need one or two breakers. The first 10 attacks done were by 6 different countries. You can chalk that up to being a low break, the new attack function wouldn't have allowed that dude to wall as he clearly wasn't prepared, online, or was too foolish to buy up beforehand :P

"Send Again" has always been on Mars 2025- the difference is that you can only hit as fast as the "Send Again" button will let you- there's an automatic 1-1.2 second delay between hits so you can't hit -too- fast. I wouldn't mind seeing that implemented for a test run one set.

The button may have helped the speed of the kills today.... But id stake more of the cause on the fact breaks were likely incredibly low, say 100k to 200k tops.

basically if youre not on your computer when they start hitting, youre likely to not be able to wall.

walling from a smart phone is pretty hard unless your attackers are slow. its even harder now cause everyone can hit quickly.

I think the new attack setup is a good change, and definitely a nice move from the lag problems that were plaguing hitters.

I do think that most of the ability and strategies to wall have also been lost, which is quite sad to me, but I don't see any way to get that back as everyone keeps trying to hit faster and no one cares about wasting military anymore.

Well

Lets think about this

Admin countries are allowed to check fail Spy Ops on the countries on their tag, so too many fail ops can negate the element of surprise of the initial FS, or at the very least tip off the attackers and get the calls rolling so players can wall earlier.

The fast attack now gives less time to wall on the overall :)

so it kind of evens out... want to make wars harder? Allow automatic acceptance of Trade pacts sent from the same tag while the country is getting attacked :)

AKA

Country B of Tag TEST is getting Killed
Country Z of Tag TEST sends a trade pact
Trade pact is accepted automatically

Country Z of Tag TEST sends FA

Bounces/Bounces/Bounces :)

Country B has more time to get online and wall :)


To keep everything Balanced just UP UP UP trade pacts expenses, and force them so they can only break it after 48 hours.
