The meta is pretend you are peaceful until week 5 or 6, then fire 900 chems at someone who doesnt have SDI. Where does a DOW come into play with that?

Goes to show you, that even with nearly maxed SDI (for a theo), 20m troops, 40m turrets 3m tanks as a deterrent while netting, people will still try to hit for no reason.

It's kind of funny in the terms that it was your old play style of joining pre existing wars late whooze

Old style of play relied fully on skill, and being able to build up without using bots. You were either good at grabbing and retals, or had an all explore build. A solo person previous to bots in an all explore build could not deal a ton of damage, but with the income and land limitations essentially removed, a person saving up cash and missiles all set can become essentially invincible given a free reign of hitting first.

This change in status means that defensive wars no longer work unless you have a monumental advantage in people, or country quality (Where the attacker can always choose to hit someone else instead). What Whooze was getting at, is that the best defense is a good offense. I told everyone we are not attacking out of hand unless warranted, I can get away with that, because inevitably I will be the one targeted when that breaks down. This is more of a statement that my decisions were not effective rather then any BS about wars 4-5 years ago.

And yeah, having people joining wars late kind of envolved as a tactic during big wars vs CC and you had no problems with it when I did it for IMP and it's not like that was a decision I took by myself.

I don't really see how that is the same thing as cowardly blindsiding a netting clan... and it happens set after set

When was the last time someone declared war on us? We love war! The problem is random people hiding in random tags, untags and hitting from the start of the set, only for other hidden countries to hit later in the set.

I do like your point though, we should war more. You convinced me we were being too passive, I'll get this fixed.

Hmm, old and sloppy. How many records did we set, or have consecutive top countries? It is nice to take a break from fighting, which was pretty much 2/3 of the last 2 years. Some folks are fine tuning some early set setups, some are going land, some are taking a break due to holidays. Just because someone asks me to do something does not mean I will drop everything in order to do it. Good lord, I had theo techers, which is literally the worst war country to use against Tyr missilers.
