#485.

He's actively exploring while other EVO members farm him.

Seems like every reset, EVO has a few members doing land creation for them, whether it's tech allied untags that only retal other alliances, or an EVO member running all explore countries.

The dude logged into his country like 8 times in a month and a half due to his work commitments. He decided to drop from the tag. He's made a landfarm of himself for *everyone* not Evo, *everyone*.

KJ, it's all well and good to say it's a land farm for "everyone", but when only EVO knows it won't retal and only EVO have farmed him, so it's not very genuine to say it's for "everyone" as all anyone else can get is deep DR.

He explored 4 days in February then on March 9, 12, and 13.

I'm not against the idea of some people running a country just to be hit, but at least be upfront about it.

It could be one of two things:

1. you're right and it's some friend running a land farm for them and coordinating explore/grab etc...
or
2. its a random dude who randomly plays for whatever reason unknown to us and Evo has a good monitoring system to look for people who just explored/gained land to hit.

Knowing that Evo and Laf both have tools out the ass for this game I'd say #2 is a good possibility.

I guess there could be a #3 - Luck to find a good target like that multiple times, its possible right!

But that leaves to question if it is #1 how is that better/worse than land trading? Hypothetically speaking lets say it was #1: discuss.

Except when you look at #485's entire history and notice that it was tagged up as Evo back in February. It has since detagged and was only farmed by Evo until an LaF country threw it a couple of hits just today. The interesting part will be when it retals the LaF hits.

If you check the news, he explored 20 minutes before being untagged and 25 minutes before EVO started farming, and then explored again 25 hours later.

There is very little difference between this and land trading, except the benefit of this is all one directional. That said, I'm not against either practice, but it's a bit hypocritical for those that landtrading has no/low risk.

Yeah I agree there. If done right a land farm would be far more efficient than a land trader (it costs a fluff ton of money and turns to land trade at the expense of tech levels and such).

Mapleson, that explore right before evo hit him was for 6 acres (assuming he got 20 acre login bonus).

Other than the first hits, and this latest hit by LaF, he has been in deep DR.

Most alliances farm someone when they get detagged. It used to be that people would farm in tag prior to detagging, but Evo changed that policy so you cannot farm people in tag, even if they're inactive or they want you to. Many tags still farm their inactives in tag.

I'm not sure what the big deal is. People go inactive sometimes; they can't finish the set, they detag and explore when they can. I would hardly say this is giving Evo some big advantage considering how small the gains are this late in the set. As usual though, haters gonna hate.

Mar 12/12 2:35:45 PM he went from 6813a to 7682a (gain 869, 20 bonus acres, exploring 61 turns @ 14a) then gained an extra 26a at 2:54:41 PM. On Mar 13/12 3:19:39 PM he explored 128 turns @ 23a.

I said I didn't find anything wrong with the practice, but I do oppose hypocrisy in validating one netting strategy over another. The amount of land taken by EVO from this one country in 48 hours is 5931a. Of that #612 grabbed just under 2k, 6.25% of his current land.

what hypocrisy? where have you seen evo "opposing" other netting strategies?

in fact, evo are now good friends with some alliances that land-trade, so i'm not sure what great hypocrisy you are trying to uncover or higher point you are trying to achieve.

Here are a few instances from a quick look of EVO leaders dismissing landtrading as inferior to bottomfeeding.

actually evo's pact wouldn't allow for back and forth trading, as a country may only be grabbed once every 48hrs. personally, i prefer it that way, as it don't "abuse" the system.

personally, i think it'll become a sad state of affairs if everyone adopts landtrading (i.e. the blindly back and forth grabbing over extremely short periods of time), because there will be no competitive element and the whole server will be running on 100k turrets lol :P

ah well, we all have our opinions! even if some are closer than others.

Ghost acre returns should be nerfed just because of RD and PDM. When a fluff alliance is 10k acres ahead of a very good netgaining alliance in average land, theres something wrong. Very wrong.

There is some difference between farming a 10m NW country (482) and farming a 1m NW country (485). In one case the player kept defense and was not detagged, in the other case he dropped all defense and was detagged. I'm sure there are other cases of players dropping out, but I was just commenting on the content here (482). As I said before, I'm ok with the general concept, so I'm not sure why you are singling me out, anoniem.

In this sad state the game is in, clans can't afford to just give up land. When you look at some of the trading a lot of the clans are doing, every acre counts. Today if you aren't land trading, you don't have a chance. I don't blame EVO, LAF, PDM, RD, etc. for making sure they keep land in their own clan.

Fact is, the country was detagged and then farmed. I've seen several clans with news feeds that look for countries dropping from tags... I'd have more of a problem with it if they kept the country tagged as Tertius mentioned above.

That evo country NEVER had any defense, so that's a moot point anyway. I'm singling you out because you used words such as hypocrisy with no validation whatsoever, even with those quotes.
