Does anyone know any formulas or anything to describe how much SDI is weakened/destroyed by failed missile attacks?

related question, do bounced missiles destroy your SDI tech or just the %? For example, if I had 80% sdi and was hit by enough missiles to drop it to 50% could I sell off tech without losing the defense % or would it drop even further? I suppose I could test it on myself in ffa but i already jumped and can't afford it. lol
