well, i can confirm that the bots are up right now and I will be monitoring a few times a day. i've made some changes to the code in places where I thought they were failing, so fingers crossed they stay on.

(i havent done anything with regards to how they play, so strategy etc should all be the same)

I've made a few changes to the alliance bot code and have restarted them. i'll continue to monitor progress/lack-there-of.

I like that. looks OK on my phone. not sure what to do about the blurb though.

also, it misses out a lot of what the portal had on it (yes, I know a lot of that stuff is YEARS out of date)

hmm. I think there are players that could likely 'prove' it with math in relation to how their countries perform with and without luck. would require a bit of research, but someone's bound to have done it

on longer running servers, almost all my bonus points go into luck. though, I don't ever netgain on other servers so I don't even think about using things like decreased expenses, etc.

No. We purposely left game profiles separate from forums as you can have multiple handles.

I think the next step was letting players opt into linking their game profile to one or more of their handles... but I'm not sure if we ever agreed on it

Currently it's more of a soft-cache. I was thinking more of a hard-cache wherein it keeps a physical copy of each file and not just attempting to re-cache the same file after some arbitrary expiration.

DM did write a 'new' version of the forums, but it has been heavily altered/rewritten since then by a number of people including pang, qzjul, nukevil and myself. Most recently pang and qz ported it to this layout/etc.

just thought that I should push the attempted fix live anyway as the way bonus api works might not hit my dev version.
