I think as a CI you should grab til 300-500 turns left(on express) depending on a lot of factors, but mostly your size.

Chevs you need to wake up from your dream. All netters are against the current restart mechanics and mainly a few war tag players are for it (although most of them also seem to be against it).

Your member should have walled ofc. He did not play with the optimal strategy. He might get a bigger restart that way but if he had taken another 200-300 hits to kill he would have saved another tag-mate from being killed. You gotta think of war on the alliance server from an alliance wide perspective and not an individual perspective.

If you just wanna call us names that's fine but most of those pansy netters can kick heiney at war too but choose not to most of the time. It's very important that the game contains both "pansy netters" and (pansy?) warriors, like yourself. It works to stabilize the market every time laf/monsters/PS/omega nets and the warring tags war.

There are plenty of ways to make FS less powerful. You can even have declare war between alliances as a game feature and make any of restrictions on it if its one-sided.

The main point of this conflict on both sides seem to be to cause grief.

Back in uni every now and then someone had spread out hundreds of thumbtacks on the main bike crossing on campus. We all said that it must be one or some of the tire repair businesses that did it to increase their income. That gave me great comfort through numerous punctures. If its the, albeit misguided, entreprenurial spirit that caused such behavior it would stop there. However, if it was vandalism or low level terrorism, what else might they graduate to, when they gotten used to the idea of hundreds of students getting punctures? Would they start throwing rocks on windows? Perhaps my window? Would it be molotov flufftails next? Scary thought.

Why does PDM and Imag both fight over the ability to call themselves the vandals or the terrorists? In every other context you do the opposite to claim the moral high ground. "We did this because we were backed into a corner by them" or "We are fighting for survival" or "We are fighting for justice" or "We are making the world(EE in this case) a better place by doing this". Such arguements are normal and many use them to validate bad behaviors too, there is a fight over the truth where every side wants to be the good side.

Imag and PDM are fighting on AT over who is the bad side. I'm basically paraphrasing both sides here: "Yes you make our game experience bad but we make it bad for you faster thus we win".

LaF, of all alliances, is hurt most by those restart mechanics and I have lobbied for either reducing them or at least making the second restart start from 0. Such a change would make war more interesting in that you can elect to kill restarts before originals to kill more resources, and ofc we will get to kill suiciders only twice per country.

I think a lot of cashers and indies. Generally the market can live with a lot of cashers, it balances out by them being forced to spend a lot of cash on the private market which costs more and brings money away from circulation, now there are enough indies so all that money is put into the tech market and food market either directly by the cashers or by the indies they buy units from.

It has been that way for some time. I guess it makes sense, cashers and indies usually do best on tournament historically. But with these prices both techer and farmer would run circles around them.

While I hate the way they frame this New Green Deal and their total lack of respect for basic engineering and physical truths as well as their almost principal backwards-striving approach I know half the stated purpose is legitimate.
I would be 100% on board with the New Green Deal if they changed the name and every idea contained within it was removed.

This idea tho of a 10 year time frame to change into a carbon neutral economy may not be so farfetched as you might think. With roads being electrified all you need is to find an affordable and scaleable source of electricity for base power supply, and that technology already exists = Nuclear power. In fact several countries managed to in 10-15 years in the 70s and early 80s go from coal/oil/gas powered electricity production to nuclear power. Doing it with solar and wind tho is unbelievably stupid.
Solar works quite well in very warm countries where air conditioning drives a mid-day peak in power utilization and the summer is when most power is used.
In more northern areas heat pumps work overtime at night and the peak in power utilization is in the early morning, which is the case in the vast majority of Europe, the majority of the US and half of China, and as such solar works very badly to meet those demands. It's expensive and not very scaleable.
Wind is obviously not scaleable to that degree as we need either.

Moving to Nuclear as base power with gas and hydro as peaker plants and some not insignificant but small parts wind and/or solar mixed in where its fitting would be doable in a rather short time frame as would electrifying the vast majority of groundbourne transportation. We are not going to do it tho, as one side keeps using the GH effect as a means to drive a socialist agenda and the other side is busy denying it instead of creating sensible solutions.

It's too strong yes, but the game needs an endgame place to put oil.
I have said for about a year to halve the units that oil replenish and thus reduce the value (and therefore price) of oil. But we would still see oil jump with that, they would stack up more evenly with other forms of jumps tho.

If there is no endgame use for oil, however, there will not be enough volume to wage war without everyone making oil rainbows, which defeats the purpose of the market and specialization and thus EE as a whole and we should all go play utopia then.

I do agree with Servant that going through the market either with selling food only or with selling food and buying NW is more complex and interesting, which is why I value jumping in tournament and primary more than in 1a.

Yeah TTR was the strongest strat back in maybe like 99-04 perhaps and then when grabbing became harder because the game shrank it started favoring tyr techer to demo techer(tyr grabs more effectively than theo and demo has higher income/acre/turn) and Republic casher (because it could grab for longer and still had a very good income/acre/turn).

Oil was introduced at some point and didn't make an impact much on netting, but when they made it so you can burn oil to get a bigger private market oil started having an actual value lategame, that paved the way for fascist farmer oiler hybrids and pure oilers, since there was now a demand for oil outside war and after people stopped grabbing for the reset, this also made the oil market more stable for warring people which is good for the game. But the oil burning is slightly imbalanced in that it makes oil a bit too valuable most of the time.

Techer can win these days, and so can casher although a casher has not won a competetive netting reset in like 4 years and only one techer has. FFO(fascist farmer oiler) reigns supreme 95% of the time.

I am sure no one really feels the need to "cheat"(against the challenge rules) in these kind of things and you wont be able to stop against that if they do, but heres a few suggestions to remove all sorts of friendship/enemy psycology and :

1. All names are completely randomized or even picked by an independent observer.
2. no one may tell until after which country is which players, but of course all participants must know from the start which countries are participating in the duel. I know its very easy to break this rule and no way to check for it but that just removes the level playing field completely

3. you gotta make rules about which attack types are allowed and what the win condition is "acres at end" is a viable one, also NW I guess but that one is less fun and you could just stock up and get UB with a techer in GDI in that case and ignore the others in the duel and win. You say "destructive farming" but what exactly makes it destructive if missiles and special attacks are not flung as well? Also if special attacks are allowed its very random, someone can win the entire challenge byjust getting GSed a bunch at the right time...
Maybe suggest spy ops and missiles but not special attacks are allowed?

I don't know, I farmed Clintonista and escaped his retals pretty successfully, which is at least partially the reason he stopped using that nick and pretended he quit the game. :)

Demo all-x seems viable. Its a fair bit like the allxp challenge tho. Anything strat specific has a tendency to ruin the market... if you announce a casher challege i will just opt out and play techer to benefit from all the extra cashers.

I played casher in the 0cs duel tho. And in the tyr casher duel too lol. Tyr casher is so bad that it wont ruin the market but i seem to remember the tech prices still went up a fair bit.

when i did my oil destocks it was with techer, I was an opportunist and did it mostly because I saw the oil market might work for it. That said if theres such a challenge, it probably won't be skill that wins it but mostly luck in being the for instance the only techer of the oil destockers or the only hybrid that went rig-heavy in a market short in oil.

And Derrick, if we ignore the element of suiciders I agree with you that in most cases a theo casher should beat a republic casher on bot servers. We can never do that tho and a theo casher played to it's strengths will stick out like a sore thumb and attract every suicider and topfeeder on the server. :)

Rep casher can sneak up from behind and win in a way that theo casher can't.

I think in 1a something like 60k is the highest, it was this set.

I managed over 11k tpt on express once, I think that might have been the highest there. It was not optimal from a netting perspective but that was not the point.
