I Played half assed this set messed up my finish and still finished around 20th. Set still has a few minutes on it.

I play once in a blue moon, used to consistently before bots got introduced.

Should be able to work this out by subtracting the bots from the total players. Last time I checked it was around 40 or 50 players. I used to play every set until about March. Only played a few times since then and only once I think taking it seriously. Top 20 is not even worth talking about in express anymore and it's ridiculously easy to top 10 if you play properly or aren't experimenting etc. Some sets even top 5 is not much of a challenge.

last set 50+ countries in top 100 were bots and total was 123 countries so 40-60 were humans.

Good luck but it's not good to be rank 1 as a commie on the first day of express. Took me a while to learn that. Commies shouldn't even play a turn until day 2 at least.

I make sure I have both bonus to claim just after the set starts, and I only play to turn 99 until I have 16 bonus points to claim free gdi

at turn 99 I go gdi and go to bonus and claim the free gdi.. then I play or continue to stock turns depending on strategy

On express your only real option is turns or free GDI. Math says GDI is slightly better than extra revenue from turns if you get big enough, but there might be some reason why getting that extra turn *right now* is worth more.

Pros
You can kill anyone who messes with you rather soon
You get to grab fatter bots
Sometimes, depending on your strategy, you can enjoy better market conditions

Cons
Bots have more defence
everyone can break you with ease for multi-taps, so you cant be as fat without taking huge risks
You gotta predict the market quite well and time your turn spending very well with the market because you can potentially be forced to do your stocking at very adverse market conditions like high food prices when stocking bushels or crashing the tech market because you have to take all your turns way too late and at the same time which can potentially flood the market.
