Humanitarian range has been shrinking on the last day of the reset since April 2013 and no changes has been made to that formula or the mechanic since then.

Time for a new change

The wording was changed, and thats why bru and some others have got the impression its a new attacking restriction. But it is not. It is the same old attacking restriction(end-game humanitarians) with a new ingame text explaining why you can't hit.

I told gerder that if u can check previous sets, that I was hitting and attacking until the very last minute of each set until just recently. I dont know why I was allowed but loved hitting till the very last. so yes I am used to being able to hit till the very end.
I also miss being able to steal tech from ded countries. yeah I know thats been in effect for years.

I'm not aware of any changes other than the language in a long time.

If it was changed, it would be announced in a changeset.

If you're confident you were able to attack recently, maybe that was some sort of bug so please provide the info about it so we can investigate!

someone complained about the message not being clear enough a set or two ago and the message was changed i think

I always thought you had to be closer and closer to them in nw to be able to hit towards the end of set.

^^that is exactly how it used to work, and incidentally it's exactly how it still works. In fact the mechanism is completely unchanged and identical to what it was since like the spring of 2013. The ONLY difference is that the message you get when you are out of the shrinking range to attack a target has been changed.

I don't know the reasoning behind it, but I don't disagree with making it more clear what is happening. The issue is that some people got the wrong idea about it, and that is something I wish the devs would help me at least a little bit with explaining.
